  1. I have the 545RFE in my CRD and I gotta say I feel its a pretty stout trans.
  2. yahh, what you have to do depends a lot on what engine your going to run......... they vary from difficult, to insanely difficult.
  3. cool stuff, thanks for sharing, I doubt I need anything now, but its nice to know.
  4. I vote for Flame Red - PR4: Or Solar Yellow: http://colorado4wheel.com/images/2000_Y ... llow35.jpg
  5. Ya, theres something to be said for a nice new walkway that would be safe and the public could go walk. But part of the allure of that I think is the shambled shape of the walkway........cmon, holes in the concrete path!
  6. napa and harbor frieght both carry spot weld cutters.
  7. http://www.brightcove.tv/title.jsp?titl ... 1408963331 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  8. Ya, that was pretty bad. Why? See above.
  9. No trouble getting right on it with a socket......but then again 95+ dual diaphragm boosters rock!
  10. Sorry but I really have to disagree with you here. The 4.7 and 5.7 engines are very good motors. And the RFE series trannys are tough as nails. There were some early 5.7 valve spring issues, but they went to a different design. I would love a full size J truck with a 5.7 Hemi and a 68 RFE behind it, or a JK based "Scrambler" with a 4.7 and a 545RFE. There are plenty of 4.7's out there in early WJ's with upwards of 200K on the clock that haven't been cracked open. Yup, 68RFE and 545RFE are good trannies. Both the 4.7 and 5.7 seem to be pretty decent engines(and I guess the 3.7 as well).
  11. funny. I run away from carbs for the same reason... Same, I hate carbs, finicky bastards, never really run quite right, always stink, never run right after you have a few thousand feet of elevation change(most of our trails in colorado have that much change). simple fuel injection is nice and easy to setup and run. I've seen alot of people run away from the electronic injection system of the KJ CRD. Seems wiring is something that people have a hard time figuring out.
  12. 1988 called, they want their GPS back.
  13. The Megasquirt is a cheap Stand alone FI system......it can be had for $200-300. completely tunable from a laptop. You may not loose any power(when everything works right on the carb) but the FI will be more reliable, need less adjustment, etc etc. Most people run away from FI because they think it will be too hard to make it work.
  14. They mostly have Jeep manuals *cough* | | | | V
  15. They do not.
  16. just because its been parked for a few months doesn't mean they want to sell it.........
  17. While you still have the chance go back and pull the master cylinder/slave cylinder setup, pedal assembly, and dual diaphragm booster and newer master cylinder.
