WyoCherokee replied to WyoCherokee's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
Axles are pulled and sitting at the gear shop. i should have them back in a week or so. Once i get them back, ive gotta weld on the axle perches for SOA, as well as new LCA brackets on the D30. slowly but surelly, we are getting there!- 132 replies

I ran the Tar out of my little 2.5. got great mileage, hauled firewood, and wouldnt die. Great little engine, just don't expect to win any drag races.

Gettin' ready for summer. Didn't want to fire up my diesel to take the camper in to town for a pressure wash, so i hooked her up to the MJ. Camper only weighs 4000 fully load(water, grey and black tanks full and cargo) and it was empty. so right around 3400lbs.- 132 replies

This is why stubby's are useless on trail rig. never understood the craze. doesn't protect you from a tree, much less a deer!

Yes, Pretty common problem with short arms and their downfall. it has to do with the length of the arm, and the mounting location on the frame. LCA drop brackets will allow for more droop before it hits the axle mount, but they also have inherent downfalls(clearance, leverage) Once its on the ground, things will level out. -

We have a fella in our club that we call Mcgyver. Hes used his wife's hair bungie as a throttle return spring, Hes held leaf springs to the axle with bailing twine and a ratchet strap, he had a vapor lock issue, so he re-routed his AC vent line to put cool air right on the gas line by the manifold to keep it cool, and a few other things. Trail repairs are the best.

Few fun things over the weekend....now rolling on 35's. Picked up a Welder..a hobart 190, and i ordered 4.88 gears. This 3 link flexes like a dream. If the ground wasnt sloppy, i probably could have gone up another 3 or 4 inches vertically, but this is the height where i can still turn the tire lock to lock and not clip the fender. Will see how much more clearance i get when the Napier flares arrive. pictures don't do the flex height justice. The floorboards are at my chest, and i am 5'10"- 132 replies

Load / Height Sensing Valve Delete / Bypass
WyoCherokee replied to SBpunk's topic in MJ Tech: DIY Projects and Write-Ups
I made this write up over on CF. At the time, CC was in the middle of a website update, so it was easier to do the write-up over there. Link is below. Hopefully i spelled everything out in layman terms. https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f88/load-sensing-valve-delete-supplement-242245/ -
Price aside.... (JCR Manche Roof Rack)
WyoCherokee replied to crumbscomanche's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
They built it for the SEMA Show for the Pizza Manche. SEMA is all about going over the top and doing crazy stuff, not neccesarilly for function. I do like the Cab guard portion, and maybe the base tubing, but get rid of the "fat lip" extension on the top. We have a bed to store stuff. -

Heater core fun today. Only yelled a few cuss words. Took about 9 hours from yanking the seats to having the dash fully re assembled.- 132 replies

Finished up the Load sensing valve delete and XJ prop valve swap. I'll run like this until i get the axles re geared. disc brakes swapped on and the WJ Booster installed. Really it was quite simple, the hardest part was fitting my big hands in between the distribution valve, the brake booster and the intake manifold to get the lower rear fittings. Took maybe a cumulative of 4 hours with beer breaks and bleeding the system. This included putting all new SS flex lines on. It stops a ton better. Before, i could not lock up the tires on gravel, now i can lock them up on pavement.- 132 replies

MJ Load Sensing Valve Delete Procedure
WyoCherokee replied to HOrnbrod's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
this photo if you are keeping the MJ distribution block, plugging the lower front port and using the "snout line." I mocked up the rear hose on the line you would hook it to( the black rubber line. Napa Part #38624) This hooks top the 7/16's fitting that would have been plummed in to the side of the load sensing valve. -

Some supplemental photos This pic, if you are switching to a ZJ or XJ Distribution block, and coupling the lines together at the "t" fitting. -
