i just filled up today and got 19.5 in town. I'm leaving for an 1600 mile trip in the morning so i will report what i get. ill stick with 87 octane and try to keep it right at 70 on the interstate :smart:
Ground clearance and a rear locker will do more for ya on the trail than you might think. :D
yea. i just don't see the point in lifted 2wd's. although i would like it to be maybe 2" inches taller so it wouldnt look so friggin small. lol then i could put 30's on it and 4.10's and I'm sure it would look allot better. I'm just trying to find a heck of a deal on the parts for a 4x4 swap, then ill raise it up a couple inches. nothing extreme though. 2-3 max
You don't need a 4x4 MJ for that. But you will need some extra cash to buy the lift and tires.
:agree: Yup, all the lift components are the same for a 2wd axle.
and it won't do me a bit of good besides drop my mpg's
well sadly there are no real performance upgrades. since the manifolds are one piece about the best you can do is grind down the ports to help flow, i do believe there is a cam you can buy that helps out but I'm not positive. exhaust...a good flowing muffler and pipe withminimal bends in it. go ahead and cut out the cats unless you need them for smog. for intake you can go with either a hiflow stock filter such as k&n or you can get rid of the air box and run an inverted cone filter off of the tube. I'm not sure about the throttle body, probably a new injector would help out. The reccomended gears for the 2.5 is the 4.10's from what i have gathered...anything over the stock 3.55's will help allot. especially with your tires
between 22-26 with 88 2.5, ax-4, 3.55, 215/75/15's 2wd bone stock at 65-70. twice got 28 drafting a semi at 70 from Winnemucca, nv to Reno,nv and from Evanston, wy to Laramie, Wy with a 30 mph tail wind
about 16-18 city
I WANT A 4x4 MJ  :(
why do i have to be broke
i love the stance and looks of yours. so very jealous
yea mine is the same way when it gets below zero. i notice even when sittting still it doesnt like to move between gears real well and its hard to feel when it actually goes into a gear. once i get moving i just double clutch for a few blocks and after about 10 blocks or so all is good. i prolly need a lighter weight gear oil in it. ive got 90 wt in it mainely just for long summer trips that i was taking
Thats a pretty good deal for a quick build up. just rough sand that puppy and throw a $50 flat black rattle can job on it and you got yourself a good runner
ide take a cutoff wheel and cut it out, then take it to a donor vehicle, trace the shape, and cut out a donor piece and weld it back in to the origional. youl want to cut it about a 1/16th-1/8th smaller than the hole and then just fill in with weld and grind it smooth
:agree:
its a big bunch of malarky. there is no way any of my vehicles would pass. they would probbaly roll over and die if i brought in the 67 :clapping:
all i can see is dollar signs fro maxle shafts and u-joints  Tough rig non the less. my highschool buddy had a scout that we beat to crap. had a 304? in it and a 3 speed bump shift in her. tough little bugger
my 67 f250 is ausome in the snow. I'm just running open diffs and have nearly bald tires but that thing sticks right to the road in the snow and ice. maybe cuz it weighs 6000 lbs but i never run chains on it or anything.
