  1. So those guys that are running their intake tube and filter, have you noticed any improvement in power or mileage? it seems like it would jsut pull hot air from the compartment which would hurt the performance. I'm debating getting one. would i be better off just getting a K&N for the stock airbox? Thanks guys Allen
  2. its just a DD, my 4x4 conversion plan will just be for functionality and nothing more. enough to get through the snowy days here in wyoming and the occasional long distance hunting trip. tires not bigger than 31's if even that
  3. so for 100-135 should i go for it? i can do the fabbing. its no biggie to me. a couple of the said rear axles have all new brakes and everything. the Grand chero had disks...will that work ok?
  4. will a D35 with 3.73's and disk brakes from a 97 Grand Cherokee bolt right up? or any D35 from a xj for that matter? I'm looking at a couple that are 100-150$
  5. finances willing, I'm in for one
  6. CSK is the same way. i get about %10 usually
  7. drove to work and class, took a nap in it at lunch, drove it home
  8. Ha ok. I'm usually running around in my red 2wd comanche, or my Big Blue 67 F250
  9. I'm at the University.we should meet up
  10. ok thanks. thatl ease my mind when flooring it in third to get up the pass :clapping:
  11. hmmmm ok. seems high to me but i guess I'm used to v8's running slightly lower rpm's
  12. what rpm's are you running with 3.55's, or 4.10's? with a 205/75/15, or 125/75/15 tire. i looked up a rpm caluclator and it says I'm just over 3000 rpms at 70mph with the 3.55's and a 205/75/15(27.1" tire). that seems a bit high to me
  13. Mounted two good tires on the front rims and moved the fronts to the back so i now have 4 tires that are just about as identicxal sized as you can get. :brows: and checked oil and air filter and front brake pads
  14. yea i can imagine. its a real dog. expecially pulling the 9000 ft pass between here and cheyenne, have to use third at about 50
  15. yep just checked. i have 3.55's and tires are lt215/75/15's in back and p215/75/15's in front. i have a set of either 2 or 4 205/70/15's that i will look at today and probably mount
  16. I'm hoping i won't drop below 20 mpg as i average about 25 right now but with the 4.10's and added weight of the 4x4 drivetrain it might be pushing it
  17. So i searched for like 35 min and couldnt find a good thread for converting to 4x4. :fs1: From what i understand i need to get an XJ with the same engine and gears as the MJ, swap in the tranny, tcase, front axle, front driveline and have a rear driveline cut down, and swap in the center console so the tcase shifter will fit and everything is a bolt on with no fabbing except for the rear driveline. Am i correct  Does anybody have a link to swapping a shortbed 2wd 4cyl to 4x4?i can't find the thread
  18. Hey are you at the Laramie, Wy. Campus?
  19. man ide finagle for the whole truck. looks like allot of useable body parts and a near perfect header panel and grille.
  20. drove it to class, drove it home
  21. Got the comanche for 250 bucks after borrowing it for a week, got my 67 f250 for putting up 100 yards of fence
  22. cool :clapping: but GM :ack:
  23. not mine sadly :help: :( :grrrr: I'm waiting for a donation of parts to swap mine to 4x4. lol
  24. i try my best but i just have p rated 2 ply tires on the jeep and i can't afford to get more if i get a flat. plus its only 2wd. ANYONE WANNA TRADE FOR A 4x4? haha. i try to take my camera whenever i go out. i love photogrophy but i can never find anyone to go with me and i don't have a tripod :wall:
