well, its hard saying without hearing the motor. if its got no knocks or rattles or bangs then yeah. probabally good to go. have you though of running a thicker oil? maybe 20-50? it has some sort of a grinding noise but i don't know where it is coming from. hopefully its just an idler

well my tired ol 88 2.5 is pushin 265,000 miles, should i be gettin leary of it? last time i checked compression all were around 125 if i member correctly, i am kinda concerned cause it makes 2 1500 miles trips every year and i really don't feel like having it blow halfway home.

1.07 in wheatland and dummy me missed the exit for it and had to pay 1.79 :ack:

thanks that was a really good write up. the 225's almost seem to small, but then again I'm used to 35" tires on my 67. ill be on the lookout for a electric fan. I'm runnin a 2 1/4 exhaust with a magnaflow. does anyone have a link to an electric fan setup on here?

i changed plugs cap rotor and wires this summer and did compression last winter. all were around 124

no injectors just a main throttle body and I'm runnin pretty much all stock. lt215/75/15's and i would cut the cat completely out since we don't have emisions here in wyoming

haha. i never lock my 67 on campus even with my head unit, boston speakers and 12" subs, and auidbahn amp, but i seem to collect allot of trash in the bed. i get all kinds of pop bottles, wrappers and all sorts of stuff. lol

I'm getttin tired of having to pull freeway hills in 3rd gear at 50. perhaps its cause its the summit of the highest point along I-80(8500 ft) but i would to at least like to pull it in 4th? ide like to keep my 26 mpg. I'm thinking rustys air tube, cut the cat converter out, and idk if i can get a bigger throttle body? any suggestions

what gears do you have? I'm running the 3.55's with my 2.5 and 4speed and i average 25-27 mpg at 70 on the highway. hows the air filter? fuel filter?. and those tires seem pretty short. might try some lt215/75's

if you can get it to start, run it for a bits(or as long as it lets you) and then pull plugs to see if they show firing. if none, then check compresion. another deal is to check and make sure your pushrods are under the rockers(i made this mistake after pulling head before pullin valve cover). For the carb, make sure your fuel bowl has fuel in it, you may have a leaky fuel bowl, or stuck float, take air cleaner off and see if venturis are puttin fuel in to the throat

I'm lookin at a parts cherokee for the 4x4 setup, my question is, will an ax15 that was behind a 4.0, mate to a 2.5 without an adaptor?

i do allot of fly fishing in the mountains and stream fishing for brookies.

here's what i go by.if it aint ford, gm, chrysler, amc, saturn(since its an american car), and it sounds like a pissed off bee and has'body kits', then it deserves to be ran over on my way to classes in the morning. come to laramie, Wy(home of WYOTECH), on a friday or saturday night, and you shall see a 5400lb truck playing smash the bee. lol :chillin:
