  1. The rest of the steering is in now. It handles a lot better than before. Everything is nice, tight, and responsive like it should be. A couple coats of paint. V8 ZJ tie rod Compared to the old junk A happy front end and steering.
  2. Had a guy offer me $2000 for my truck while it was at the shop about a month and a half ago. I didn't even look at him. Just said "try again" and walked off. I know what I have in my truck monetarily as well as what its worth to me. Besides, you can't put a price on all the looks and questions anyway.
  3. Well, in that case..... Edit: D'oh, beat me to it.....

I guess per forum rules and definitions, I'm officially a "Comanche Addict". Where's the 12 step paperwork? Aww, screw it, I'm proud to be an addict!
  5. Looks great bro! Good job.
  6. Not much of an update, but I finally started working on the steering. Its been hovering above and below 100F every day with no end in sight so I haven't been too interested in working on much. Anyway, I pulled the old, worn out, dilapidated gear box and replaced it this morning with a reman ZJ gear box. What a difference that made. I really didn't know how much slop was in the old one until I test drove with the new one. It feels so much tighter and more responsive now. The rest of the steering components should be in on Tuesday. I didn't get all crazy with it. Ordered an XJ drag link and V8 ZJ tie rod and tie rod ends. After those are in it will be an alignment and tire balance as my front end is still shimmying and shaking some. Once that is done, it may be time to shift back over to the phoenix and get some sheet metal work started on it.
  7. I have been following this build from the beginning and just realized this is my first comment on it. Congratulations!!! This truck is beautiful. Well done sir. Very tasteful and super clean. Your paint job has sparked my motivation to get the Phoenix to the body shop asap.
  8. Really stellar work. Congratulations bud. Take a bow.
  9. If I read that article Bo linked to correctly, the transmission goes into 3rd gear when put in drive if the TCU is not present/plugged in. Did you put it in drive or did you try the other forward gears as well?
  10. Yeah, that's about what I paid for my CFS 3-row radiator back in March . And I also run the above mentioned ZJ fan clutch. Jeep runs nice and cool. Sitting in traffic, the temp NEVER creeps up past 210F.
  11. I have the Hobart handler 140 and used it on my floor/firewall welding, it performed great. And just as a side note, Hobart is made by Miller.

  15. Yes it is. Skagen titanium.
  16. Coppell, Lewisville, Grapevine, Valley Ranch, Flower Mound, and Carrolton are all decent towns to live in. The crappier areas are going to be inside 635 on the Dallas side. The only drawback I can see of being right on the northside of DFW airport is the airplanes. I hope you're used to hearing jets flying overhead. As far a specific neighborhoods go, I couldn't tell you. But I can say the closer you get to Dallas or Ft. Worth, the worse it'll be. Welcome to 100F+ degree weather. Oh yeah, and traffic is a big female dog. On the bright side, there is plenty of space. Nothing is piled on top of everything else. Good shopping disctricts in that area. Schools are pretty decent. The housing costs aren't astronomical. And you're right around the corner from just about everything. When ya get here, welcome to Texas.
  17. Leave the blue thing in place. Its supposed to be there.
  18. Coming right along. Looks good!
