  1. Got the headlights and harness in finally. Waiting until tonight to test them out. That should tell the tale of how much of an upgrade they really are. Also, with the accessories stacking up and the aftermarket wiring laying under the hood, I'm not particularly happy with it looking like a mess under there. Working on an idea to consolidate the wiring and clean it up some. I'm more of a fan of a factory fresh look when it comes to wiring. Stay tuned!
  2. Just picked up two more. A Taurus .380 for CCW and a Walther .22 for plinking . I think I may have an addiction as severe as the Jeep bug!
  3. I have a short bed with SOA. A 33x12.50x15 fits under mine. Its close, but it works. Winching it up took some creativity. It dragged on the diff cover (stock D44 cover), but wiggling it around helped it clear and fall into place. I had new exhaust run from the cat to the rear and the spare sits around 3 to 4 inches from the pipe. Its a close fit, but it does fit.
  4. Jay, that tent is coolness. Very nice! I'm envious.
  5. Lately my sub has been cutting out randomly. The way I had it all installed, the sub box was wedged between the seat and the amp on the drivers side. I'm assuming the amp was just simply getting hot due to lack of air circulation. Anyway, I decided to rearrange everything on the back panel to free up some space behind the drivers side and move the amp to the passenger side. I also painted the AC inverter black so it didn't stick out like a sore thumb.
  6. My car is my primary means of transportation (still paying on it BTW), and I find I drive the MJ more. Is it weird to talk to it while cruising down the road?
  7. You know, I can actually believe that, coming from you!! :D
  8. Just like the title. I'm sure most here have a gun(s) of some sort. So lets see them! What kind of firearms do you have and shoot? Handguns, rifles, anything. I guess I'll kick it off. Lately I've been on a "tactical weapons" kick, if that's what you call it. Must be all the zombie movies and tv shows. I've been carrying 4 to the range. A Bushmaster AR-15 with a few modifications that I acquired from one of our own CC members (I'll keep him anonymous unless he wants the credit). A Sig Sauer SP2022 .40 pistol. A Mossberg 500 12ga shotgun with a few modifications. And a Ruger .44 Super Blackhawk I inherited from my dad. So what are you rocking?
  9. That is one beautiful truck! Congratulations
  10. Thanks for the info guys! I have a set of your lights and plan to purchase another set.
  11. Well, sort of. A couple of weeks ago my boss walked up to me and was asking questions about my MJ. What I've done to it, how much work was involved, etc. Come to find out he's a big gear head and car nut. Anyway, he asks me to email him a picture and a 250 word write-up explaining the Comanche. Naturally, I ask him why he wants it. Apparantly there's a section in our companys quarterly newsletter (which I didn't know existed) that highlights a selected employees personal life and interests. So, yeah, its not a cool nationwide publication like a magazine but I thought it was kinda cool to be asked to showcase my little truck. Anyway, the newsletter came out yesterday and my coworkers have been asking about it in more detail as well as giving me a hard time. Bah, they're just jealous!
  12. Put 350 miles on it this weekend driving to the junkyard and back then to the movies (The Avengers was awesome btw) and to the gun range. Oh, and "watched" 3 movies while doing it!
  13. Awesome! I dig your truck and you do top notch work. Really glad to see a build thread and documentation on it. Loving the interior and exterior colors and the way they work so well together. Great attention to detail, and your gauge overlays are pimp! Way to go Josh. Looking forward to seeing all your progress in this thread.
  14. Sorry guys, haven't had time to install these yet. But here is where I ordered the harness from: http://www.eautoworks.com/Putco-H4--900 ... D7540.aspx The e-code housings and bulbs I ordered from Susquehanna Motor Sports: http://www.rallylights.com/detail.aspx?ID=744
  15. I like the interface offered. Very clean and simple. It reminds me of our current site with none of the frilly BS cluttering everything up. I'm torn, I partially agree with Ben in trying to keep it similar to what we know and are used to. However if the current software has gotten as rickety as it has, maybe a change to IP.board is a good idea depending on costs of course. Providing the data can be imported, I'd like to see it go that way. Plus working polls, better spam blocking, tapatalk or smartphone compatibility, etc would be icing on the cake. Of course this is all compelling me to make a proper PayPal contribution.
  16. I'm on Verizon, running a rooted Thunderbolt. Luckily I was grandfathered in on the unlimited data. I'm not sure where the cutoff is where they throttle you back, but I usually average around 4Gb per month. Most of that is surfing this site and Netflix. I've gotten to the point where I use my phone more than the desktop, laptop, and netbook. Haven't really had any problems to speak of. As for iPhone and the iOS I couldn't say. Never owned an iPhone. I've been with Droid since the first one came out @2009. Not that I have anything against the iPhone (its a great phone). Its just not my particular brand of vodka. As for speeds here, I can't complain:
  17. Very nice Ryan! What is the name of the company that sells the weatherpack connectors?
  18. Finally ordered the upgrade headlight stuff. Hella e-code H4 headlight housings and Osram 85W/80W bulbs and the eautoworks upgrade harness. Now to find the time to actually put it in!
  19. Evercoat Poly-Flex http://www.evercoat.com/productDetail.aspx?pID=8 I just used this stuff on the plastic center bezel in my Jeep to fill in some gaps. viewtopic.php?f=7&t=29527&start=210 Its specifically made for plastics like bumpers and flares.
  20. The 97+ front doors from a 4 door will bolt up. However, the strikers are completely different and will need to be addressed if you want them to close and latch.
  21. Very nice! I'm enjoying this build.
  22. Thanks for the compliments! I'm really enjoying it. The screen covering the vents was definitely a major factor in swapping it with the double din unit.
  23. Finished replacing the rest of the cooling system today. New water pump, OEM thermostat, OEM upper and lower radiator hoses, heater hoses, and an upgrade to the ZJ fan clutch. Previously, the running temp @ 85F with the A/C on was around 235F. After the 3 core CSF it dropped to roughly 220F. Now with the system backflushed like crazy and replacing everything else, it barely touches the 210F mark. Looks like its running exactly 195F. Looking at the water pump and the thermostat that came off, I would bet they were originals. With 235,000 miles on them its no wonder they were getting tired. Needless to say, I'm a happy camper with the results. Of course the real test will be this August when temps are pushing 105F in the shade! Also changed the oil today and put a relay and delay timer in for the radio so it will automatically unlock the screen for video without using a toggle switch or anything. Sorry, no pictures of today's progress. It has been raining on and off all day and I didn't have a lot of time to get it finished. Next bit of progress coming next week will have some pictures though!
  24. That's awesome!!!!
  25. Usually its a homebrew of my own creation. Bocks, IPAs, wheat beers, red ales, oktoberfest, etc. Anything but a light beer, and no commercial anything (Budweiser, Coors, Miller).
