Raptor Liner Or Monsterliner Exterior Of Truck
92tanMJ replied to 92tanMJ's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I don't know why I didnt see this reply earlier, so I guess the bed and cab are a go then. & because I don't think I will save any money doing a real decent paint job, Ive never painted before in my life and when I did my cherokee in Hurcluliner it was pretty darn good, the only downside is how rough it was. Even though my buddies dads shop has a real paint booth, and guns and stuff I just don't think I can pull it off Looks like people over on Pirate4x4 are using mosterliner I might look that up some. l http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/tools-supplies/933424-introducing-monstaliner-uv-permanent-diy-roll-bed-liner.html -
Raptor Liner Or Monsterliner Exterior Of Truck
92tanMJ replied to 92tanMJ's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Is this known for a fact? Because I feel like if it come in the door some it would be a lot harder to get it to flake off Well like I said I'm not sure if I have the skill to do a DIY real paint job, and I don't have enough money to pay someone. Maybe ill have to do an OD Green rattle can job hahaha -
We have some yards like that and those suck :/

Like the title says I'm thinking about raptor lining the exterior of my truck. Since 'real' paint jobs cost more money than I have right now. I just don't want to do it and it look like crap. :ack: I was thinking about going with a lightish or medium gray color for the outside and then black for in the cab and in the bed. Has anyone one ever delt with this product? It's got good reviews, I was just wondering if anyone had done it yet here? I used Hurcliner on my Xj and I liked it but it was just too rough. Product link for those of you who don't know what I'm talking about: http://www.tptools.com/U-Pol-Raptor-Spray-On-Truck-Bed-Liner-Kit,2600.html Not to copy but I think I'm going to go with this color (maybe a bit darker) and just swap the clip, finders and mirrors for now. :clapping: Opinions? Thoughts? Ideas? On a seperate topic I was wondering if anyone had used steel tubing for their rockers? I feel like it may look silly on an MJ. I don't know, why I just do. Thanks, -Zack *updated title and fixed my spelling, sorry guys*

Youre going to have to post that video as a desktop link lol I can't get it work as mobile or normal. So how did you level the front, spacers or new coils?
-
Hey man did this ever work out for ya?
-
The arm for the inside door latch was off...idk about the lock. Randomly tried today and its works again, so i'm just gonna leave it alone for the time being Good to hear it

Ive got a short bed and from what Ive read it won't work. Id like to buy the tailage off of you if still have it come May
-
I believe that could be a possibility. The trick will be working in the rear corners. Also may be a little more due to the cost of real tree camo fabric. I will have to investigate and get back with you. Well theres no real rush, I'm a DIY'er so I may try my hand at it just cause not offense to you or anything, I'm jsut like that. hahaha But let me know what you find out.

The back door in my cheroke got stucked closed, your 'locking arm' probably slipped off. I would suggest pulling off the door panel and reaching in there and manually unlocking/opening with a big screwdriver by pusing down the locking C clip thing that holds the lock. Sounds confusing but its hard to explain, thats what I did in mine.

I have no idea, so I won't be much help. Ive been looking at doign this swap as well. But have you looked up how to replace an ebrake cable? like is there a way to splice it in?

Ive heard to buy a cheap CB and then repurpous the money you saved on a nicer antenna is that true?

1992: Stacy - Clutch Replacement 6/08
92tanMJ replied to 92tanMJ's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
Well if I do the swap I have to do it all by mid August because I would then have to drive it to school. The rust I can fix pretty fairly quickly, one of my buddies back home said he's working on getting me patch panels for the bed that they for insurance work (idk if they even have that though anymore) and hes getting me floor pans and rockers. although I may do the 2x4x3/8 steel tubing for the rockers though. If he can't get patch panels and I can't find a bed by May then I am going to try my hand at fixing it. All in all I'm not that worried about the rust. But I need to figure out my plan before May so I can start getting parts and such. But on the topic of the swap, the reasons I want to do are the 4.0 in the manche needs a head gasket and I don't want to fix it and then later decide to do the swap. Theres a lot of parts on the cherokee I want to reperpous into the comanche, and I wouldnt have a problem with that, Ive just don't really know in what direction to go. Well the more I really thing about it I just may just got with a 2/3" lift on the Comanche and sell Cherokee out right. But I would really like to lift her 5" or so. and put my 8.25 in her rear or a 8.8. I'm just not sure about any of it right now Edit: Well I think Ive made up my mind, I'm going to sell my Cherokee and rebuild the engine, fix the rust and paint her and drive her as is for a while. Then I'm going big and doing it right from the start. Probably 8" long arms and 3link and 35s then lots of armor and then run 'er at Moab -

That is what I mean, going do try that now. A 1997 Dakota just came to the local junk yard on Wednesday and looks to be complete. That should cover me for tank, pump, and sender all at once. Oh my bad I was on my phone and didnt see that. Make sure to post lots of pictures when doing it!! And I might send you Pm tomorrow if I remember about doing a 98+ swap since I just picked up an MJ. -
