  1. No Sir, definitely not my intent. Yes TBI is both Throttle Body Injection and Trumatic Brain Injury, I was attempting a bit of humor because it has be my best friend when working on my jeep. I was actually just quoting you instead of acting like I know to much. I have also ran into issues with my own parts, especially aftermarket, lift, and/or performance parts(preformance parts, i know I'm dying right now, because there is almost none for tbi). For instance on parts not fitting as one would hope, as just bolt on and go(I know I am not 100% correct and definitely will get something wrong and leave a bunch more out). Throttle bodies & throttle body spacers(bolt pattern differs), performance/aftermarket exhaust manifolds(as later style intake where more a true U shape allowing larger tubes and bends on exhaust), certain sensors and electrical devices (mainly just need harness plugs wired to match each other), also my lift kit was for 87-92 I didn't think that would matter but it really did(about 4 or 5 steps were way off, not needed, missing, or just plain out didn't apply in my situation). You could bolt up some of these thing but then you need others to make them work properly.
  2. Yes, yes it does because the 86 model year (which I have) is the same in theory and on paper as other years but in real life most parts require a bit of modifying to fit(i.e. cut the wires to make it work) and ( you need a cap a rotor, as they are diffrent). Just be very aware of this keep receipts, and don't ruin a part with out first making sure it works for you and your specific needs.
  3. Victory, sub now works when stereo is in aux mode & am/fm, sadly CD mode gave me an error and wouldn't take cd, and still yet to try usb input. There were only two wires to choose from so it made it pretty simple to figure which one to try next. Thank you again
  4. ......... Well I guess this is where a nice wiring diagram or owners manual would have made this a whole lot easier. Wow, that being wired that way can make it work like that. Well I will be pulling it out again and hopefully get that squared away. I think and hope there is only one other wire that was free but I could be wrong. Thank you guys for your help too
  5. Just two inputs, it's an Alpine unit, yes light on external sub controller turns off, it actually fades off and stays off when I turn it from am/fm to cd/aux, I still have yet to try another device in usb
  6. So sub only works with fm/am tuner, not aux or cd's.... I tryed iPod in usb port but stereo said usb error. So i need to find usb friendly device to check if sub works through that source. Stereo unit didn't seem to have any special settings for aux bass either, just basic sound adjustment type settings. So like most things on my jeep it works and it doesn't.
  7. You are obvious upset, sorry. $#!& Box, not very nice Sir, not very jeeper like at all. Pulling your dress up to show me how big your balls isn't going to really make me care take you serious either. What gives you the right to assume you are so much smarter than someone else, do you know everyone life experiences and what knowledge they hold. Sorry again,Take a deep breath, as I said in my 1st post about this You got all this exp then give guidance not Grief. My intake tube is plastics but has a 4 inch metal coupler between it and filter itself. Alls i did was mock up that picture. I have and have had a cone filter direct inline of factory intake air hole, for a number of years with no box, air damm, or anything protecting it from heat, dirt, and moisture. So wouldn't some sort housing for filter element be better than non at all? I mean hey what would I know anyhow I am just a knuckle dragging Certified wrench turning baby bouncing jeeper 😂 just a rollin on a creeper
  8. Yes the throttle body is one spot, then the accordion style hose to throttle body, all hard bends from crappy air boxes with tiny restricted air passageways. Thanks, my jeep and I will do as I please.
  9. This is my true enemy, over the years having my comanche it is the one thing I hate not working properly more than anything else. I have always loved repurposing items and found a coffee container can be quite the cold air intake element housing(figured my 2.5l could use a little pick me up). This is just an idea right now but I will be making it a reality soon!
  10. Yes, worked wonderfully with radio, listening now at 2/3 volume level I used to. You know Dzimm I honestly don't know and will definitely have to check.
  11. Thank you Dzimm, that was the problem and solution to my puzzle. Side note amp/sub doesn't seem to work with aux input....
  12. I can totally tell this is underside bed of a comanche but that dana 35 looks like a Cherokee dana35 with low hanging shock mounts. Also look directly above spring pad, is that shock the main and only shock? Sorry to butt in just see a lot that don't look familiar to my comanche and maybe that could be the solution/problem
  13. Used the comanche to help a buddy grab some 12 ft 4x4s for a little project.
  14. Oh $#!&, I read I didn't need REM hooked up. Not to hard to run another wire. Fuse was first thing I check, then I even tryed hooking power and ground backwards and blew the fuse. Well fingers crossed and I will update when I get that wire ran.
  15. Its an MTX audio tube sub/amp combo.
  16. No it doesn't seem to be turning on, check with multimeter got 14.65v(or 12.65v) at power wire, at power on amp, and at the ground on amp. The tiny red led lights aren't even coming on.
  17. Ok either there is something funky with my seat bolt or amp isn't working/wired properly.
  18. Ok that is what i was meaning That was original plan, just seems like lots of extra ran wire.
  19. Where did everyone who has a subwoofer choose to ground it? I am thinking the stud the bottom of the bench would work but i feel like there is a better option.
  20. No problem and I am right there with you I got wires with connectors not connected to anything(both under the hood and the dash). My best guess is they are options that were wired in but the option(ac,fog lights, ect) themselfs not on jeep itself.
  21. I figure you are running SOA, what lift do you have in front, did you use larger shackles in rear?
  22. Had to make some room in the driveway, so i took the opportunity to do poser step/curb flex shot. Does this make me a mall crawler...
  23. That looks like alternator bracket mounting hole.... At least that is what it is on my 86 2.5l, it has a bracket in front and rear of alternator.
  24. Just needs some eye balls in windshield and it would look like a 4x4 Lightning McQueen.
