  1. Got my dirtbound stubby winch bumper painted and installed. Just a few items needed before I can attempt to flex to max and take it wheeling!
  2. Thank you Mnkyboy, I was kinda figuring that would be the best spot to go for a new(custom) drive line. Especially at the price you had paid for both, I would probably pay for one.
  3. Crash, yeah a ZJ front driveline just might do the trick, stock collapsed lenght for mj looks like 25 1/16 & 25 1/8 and the zj ones are 32 7/8 and 34 1/4. So in collapsed form one could gain 7 to 9 inches in driveline by switching to a ZJ front driveline. Thank you Crash!
  4. Engine hoist is/was lifting truck by sway bolt holes, but not using the sway bar bolts, I used grade 8 hardware with same thread pitch as sway bar bolts. You use what you have and when you are working by yourself you do what you have to, I mainly used it to raise and lower front end to while I had jacks tanks under axle. Yes those are upper control arm bushings located in the axle housing itself. How I got them out, well I sprayed the $#!& out of them with PB Blaster, then knocked them out about an inch by hammer. After that I used my pry bars to pry while I hammered from opposite side, once I felt no more movement, I put pry bar on little lip and hit pry bar with hammer knocking the bushings out. Also I had my leaf spring bushings I removed a previous weekend so the removal process was still fresh in my head.
  5. Sitting back on his own feet
  6. Upper and lower long arms installed Looks like I will be needing longer/new front drive shaft, what is everyone else running for front driveshaft?
  7. Rubicon Express 4.5" lift coils vs Stock 4x4 coils Rubicon Express coils installed Lower Control Arm Mount Delete Rusty's competition 4 link bracket
  8. Rocking the stink bug look.
  9. Rusty Competition 4 link and Rubicon Express 4.5" inch coils Spring Over Alxe kit and Zone 4.5" lift shocks
  10. Thank you guys so much for posting, lots of good info here already. Korsch_RS very good info, why this particular 4.2l instead of 5.3,6.0, or anything else, is well i already have all that i shold need minus motor mounts. Second we are also talking about a jeep comanche i am wanting to put it into, 273hp and 277tq sounds like well more than double my i4 at 123hp and 130tq (i believe). I have been looking for pictures of oil pan both with and with out alxes going through and found an 4x4 article about a tb turned rock crawler, sitting on 60s, the article didn't say much besides he crawls it with a hole in the pan (talking about old alxe through holes). Thw dude not 100% sure how i would set up rear axle until i had it there, probably to keep it simple and cheap weld peaches for leafs uptop, making my jeep SOA. Please guys keel the comments and info coming it much appreciated, thank you too and have a happy thanksgiving.
  11. neohic, this tb(trailblazer) was my ladies, she had purchased it about a year ago, herself and I both landed jobs at Mt Hood at one of their skills resorts. It made the Portland to Government Camp, 12 days straight during Christmas, snow, white outs, and any other weather that/situation you could throw at it, it handled it beautifully. Even the storm last year that shut our town down (sad how many people don't know how to drive) didn't stop the tb, over the rivers, snow and through the woods it goed. Ok fast forward to September, it gets t-boned in the passenger side, spinning the tb a full 360 degrees plus, jumping a curb in the process. Damages both front and rear passenger door pushed in and rearward into B pilar, damaging B pilar as well. Fast forward two weeks after accident, I drove it over 500 miles 1 way, and then drove it back with no issues. All the power accessories still work too.
  12. No,not the 4.3l (garbage motor, imo) i6 desbennett004,in a trailblazer, I believe that you are thinking of just a blazer. (The TrailBlazer comes with a 273 hp (204 kW) 277 lb·ft (376 N·m) all-aluminum 4.2 L "Atlas" LL8 inline-six engine standard) from the Wikipedia. Also this trailblazer was my ladies until it got t-boned. Liked it so much, I bought it back and we got her into another one with same i6 4x4. As that is so, I have already done a few things (maintenance wise) getting to behold such a beautiful all aluminum dual overhead cam, with slightly less horse power than the V8 option. I wondered why they didn't have it in more chevy stumbles. It's also very easy to work on and most components are easy to access.
  13. Recently acquired a 2004 chevy trailblazer it has 4.20L inline 6, locking rear end (g80), 4L60-E, and stock transfer case. It was t-boned passenger side impact, side runs and drives straight. What I am curious has anyone swapped these components(any or all) into their jeep comanche or cherokee and what were the problems that they encountered. I would definitely like to put the locking g80 rear end under the manche for sure, also the trailblazer's rear end is a coil sprung 5 link, which could be a huge upgrade. Swapping whole drive train would be most ideal, as the i6 is rated around 275 for both torque and horsepower. Thank you guys in advance for anything you might have to say to help or direct me to help.
  14. http://www.powerblocktv.com/episode/HP2009-12/454-budget-build#.Vl5qsxDTnqA Found this episode while researching big block builds. I think I might have actually watched this episode when it aired too. Not too much money for quite the bit of power increase. Crash maybe it,or maybe it becomes my hot rod tow rig too.lol. Thanks Hick92 I like it too.
  15. Hornbrod, with the exploded view on removable pinion housing, thank you Hronbrod, the picture is for you Doc. Thank you too Pete, I totally feel the same. Yeah 87Warrior, I have always dreamed/wanted to own my very own Big Block Chevy. Finally the dream has became a reality.lol.
  16. Thank you sinkrun, it is bigger and not.lol. It definitely a lot more comfortable, like driving a cpuch, also it's an automatic and power steering is on point. Makes it feel way more nimble but still a beast in the streets.
  17. Saved this beauty from rotting away, buried in and under trash along side a house. Had to tow it too,PO lost keys and decided to drill out ignition, dummy. A little elbow grease, hot soapy water, and a rinse and looks beautiful. Check out that rearend too,it sure is fatty. I got really lucky too, 454 big block, it's the RV edition with 4.56 rear end w/ limited slip and removable pinion housing, th 400, and a short box. Worst part was rebuilding the steering colum after PO drilled out ignition, HD to realign ignition gears just right then installed new ignition switch and now it's a turn key beast.
  18. JK shocks with Teraflex bar pin eliminators and rough control bushings. Did the drums in the rear and painted them black, as well as address my non-working parking brake. New radiator, new brake booster (painted green to scheme), custom intake with AEM conical filter, newer-ist Throttle body and sensors, new belts, and new exhaust manifold. New water pump, new fan clutch, new theromostat (180 degrees), and nice new shiny thermostat housing.
  19. Freaking hate Rev matching. Yeah it was no fun, I was in the middle of town around 3pm.
  20. This right here is the main reason I want to figure it out.
  21. In stock form and now!
  22. Well I can only do what I can with the knowledge I have, which isn't as much as I would hope at my age. I understand that the tbi will be a choke point, but my current intake manifold is akward and kinda rectangular and tight to the head, leaving minamal space for headers. I understand doing the whole MPI swap would probably be best, but I feel that is much more in depth a job involving changing harnesses, brain, fuel pump, injectors instead of tbi, and probably more I am sure I am forgetting. I want to keep it as simple as possible for the time being and later possibly do,the MPI swap/conversion
  23. So the newer 2.5 intake to with tbi swap, any pictures anyone? The idea for me is better air flow for intake and also more room for a better flowing exhaust manifold/header.
  24. Thank you for the heads up about jeep driver, shelbyluvv.
