Will it work? no abs on mine, the 97 booster has a newer style m/c on it. I can make the rod end fit if it doesnt already ( I'm pretty sure I can rig it) just wondering about the firewall hole, bolt pattern, position it will sit... I know I have to get rid of the washer bottle.... just need a answer ASAP..

Just picked up a 1987 Cherokee Chief yesterday for $300! Has the 4.0 and 5-speed, may wheel it a time or two, then use the axles to get the Comanche up and going again. Image Not Found[/url] I don't like you BILLY_BOTTLE_CAPS!!!! :headpop: lol Wish I could run up on a deal like that! Nice find.

I read somewhere that you could bleed the coolant from somewhere on the block I believe. Its a pressurized system maybe you could take it somewhere to get a pressure test done.....

yelp,, take the small little bolt out from the engine bay ( 8mm I believe) then under the dash theirs two clips/hooks keep it together. I removed the washer bottle on mine to get to it better. I bet you the m/c has leaked and took out some of those little clips that hold the fuses in.. My truck had the craziest looking fuses in it when I started this jeep thing from the mc leaking.. Most of the fuses clips were cracked up and broken... Had them all fixed up in no time,,,,,, Thanks again Wildman!!

Yeah I know what your talking about.. I can make some good gas mileage ( if I needed to) Now let Steph drive and its wide open to the next stop light then heavy braking... Girls,,,,, gezzzz,,,, I heard a cool little trick to gain gas mileage, take a bottle of acetone and pour 2 fl oz's in a full tank, I don't know if it works but I don't think that it would hurt a whole lot. Worth further investigation I imagine.

The only way I can see from their descriptions, and instructions would be to lengthen injector pulse. But, 15% is probably a much closer estimation of how much additional fuel is needed. A 15% longer pulse width wouldn't affect the life of the injectors significantly. Ethanol does contain o2, its the reason that it is used for an oxygenate rather than the toxic MTBE. The reason behind emissions codes is the increased oxygen level. The vehicle sees the extra o2, tries to adjust the fuel ratio. When it can't get the o2 to what it sees as an acceptable level it will set the code. Thats what I thought. I didn't run it long enough to make any comparisons in fuel mileage nor did I notice any power increase. I have spoken to a few import tuners (I don;t have just a jeep) If you could remap your fuel curves you could make Ethanol just as efficient as regular petro. The catch is raising the compression to fully gain the most efficiency. Thats an easy task on engines that rev in the 6 and 7000's rpm range but these old jeeps just can't handle those kind of rev's. From what I've been told they don't really hold up to well to forced injection. My point is, just by adding more fuel to compensate for the loss in energy, by allowing the injectors to stay open longer isn't going to do much more then give you a super rich air/fuel ratio. You have to finely tune your computer, make needed changes in timing and up compression to take advantage of the higher octane levels that E provides. The thing is I don't have much to any knowledge about the renix system to know how it works. from what I have gathered from these system's is that its pretty much a solid state type of ecu ,,, I'll stay here long enough to put it all together though, so I'm not to worried about it.

I never used this kit, but I have ran E85 in my Isuzu Rodeos 3.2L v6. The biggest problem I had was the ecu didn't know what to do about the O2 levels. I threw a code for emissions. My theory is that burning the Ethanol raised the o2 levels leaving the computer not knowing what was wrong.

this may sound obvious,, but did you make sure the ebrake is all the way off/? Like check the cable and see if its binding. -
I understand. I was saying no matter what kind of exposure using this fuel source is getting; I will still advocate it. We're in the same boat. I too want french fry burning truck !!! I'm basing my school and career on it.

Yup, everything in MN is at least E10. Local news station did some E85 tests this week and they were getting 39% less milage in a Durango http://www.kare11.com/news/news_article ... yid=267612 Quote from arcticle "In other words, with E85 in the car, our mileage was 39 percent worse. The result actually was worse than we expected. Consumer Reports magazine conducted a similar road test and found mileage was 27 percent worse with E85." As would be expected by a for-profit enterprise like the 'news' station performs a 'test' and has findings that makes a better story. They don't detail driving conditions, how many miles they drove using the non-85, driving styles, or any other conditions that would effect MPG. LOL, and comsumer reports is out to get them too. "Consumer Reports magazine conducted a similar road test and found mileage was 27 percent worse with E85." If it works for you, great. Al I know is that in the Flex fuel Caravan that I owned we got 25-30% worse milage from E85 and it didn't make any financial sense to use it. I do believe you may receive a tax break from using E85.

Agreed, Maybe you do have worse millage with E85, The main focus of it esp. in the US is that we're keeping it "in the family" so to say. Not only does the production give US farmers work, it lessens our dependence on foreign supplies. The price is higher because of the process used to make it today, tomorrow it will get cheaper when processes get streamlined and newer technology are developed. Take Brazil for example they're one of the worlds biggest producers of Ethanol. They make it using sugarcane. They can flip a switch and produce sugar or fuel... It all depends on what the economy calls for at the moment. The more ethanol is used the better the prices will become. I would love to see the US run independent from Arabic sources. I myself would like to see everything turn to diesel and see the cleaner burning biodiesels rule the roads.

Need simple advice on door jamb switch
jtdesigns posted a topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I want to replace my door jamb switch. Wildman told me napa can get them, but they aren't the exactly the same.. The jeep one has 2 connectors I'm thinking it's because it's not a ground switch like gm uses. Neways here is the one listed at napa,,, Is the jeeps a grounded circuit? http://www.napaonline.com/MasterPages/NOLMaster.aspx?PageId=470&LineCode=ECH&PartNumber=DJ6137&Description=Door+Jamb%2fAjar+Switch I found these on ebay looks like the jeeps but listed for dodge.. I'm pretty sure it's the same but the price is about 50% more... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=007&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&viewitem=&item=170168573366&rd=1 What'ch think??The napa one or bite it and go for the ebay one?? -
You guys know that we run e10 now don't you? Most the gas you buy is using ethanol to replace a oxidizing agent called Methyl Tertiary Butyl Ether or MTBE. So your pumping it already if you didnt know.
-
There's alot more you have to do to run E85. Ethanol likes to eat certain alloys and rubber so you'd have to change out or line things that aren't ss.

Take it back and get this one!!!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BkJwcR21VLk

Thats a crock......... Wonder if it has to do with the fact that 95% of Boy Scouts are from middle-class white citizens??

Thought I'd share this with some of my fellow service members. This film was made by a 15 year old girl. The following is the hottest thing on the internet and on Fox News today. Lizzie Palmer who put this YouTube program together is 15 years old. There have been over 3,000,000 hits as of this morning. In case you missed it, here it is. Watch all of it.......and, pass it on!!
