Best side-view I have (Skid-Row):
-
The only one's that I know of that will work on the MJ's as a "bolt-on" solution is the Skid-Row and TNT Customs one. I've personally installed the Skid-Row one on a MJ without issues. The Warn one may depending on your tranny/tc combo you have. -Adam

Resolver spring hangers
Motion Offroad replied to banshee's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Revolver shackles are not illegal in Indiana. -
Getting them "just-right" is a major pain. The body lines are no where close to being the same and as Incommando stated if you don't trim the backside of the flare it will leave a large gap at the top. It can be done and made to look good, just expect it to take some time! Here's TJ flares mounted on the rear of our wheeling MJ.

Long Arms-3 Link, or 4 Link?
Motion Offroad replied to 88pioneer's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
The nice thing about the RK triple threat (4 link) kit is that you can run it as a 4-link on the road, spend about 5 mins yanking 2 bolts and run it as a 3-link offroad. The kit was developed to allow you to have more confidence on the road with the 4-link setup, but still have the offroad performance that we've all grown to love with the 3-link. -

91 wrangler front axle?
Motion Offroad replied to zagscrawler's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
'91 Wrangler is a YJ and is leaf sprung. Not a "bolt-in" solution. -
100% possible and has crossed our mind. However if that was the case I'd like to know why we never got a lot of the items we had on order with them 5-6 months prior to them filing bankruptcy when we placed stocking orders due to them being on "backorder". For instance we had some SYE kits on order with them (about 30) prior, even before Christmas. Never got them. We just took delivery of over 100 of them this week. If they had them in stock prior to the buyout why didn't we ever get them? Your guess is as good as ours; however it looks like only time will tell....

Just an update on this; We received a large shipment of RE parts earlier this week. Upon looking at them they are all identical (no corners cut) as the original RE parts. As of today (07/21) we are allowed to start shipping RE parts again. I can't speak for how the new RE customer service will be but I can speak for the parts that we have on our shelves and the quality looks the same as what they were in the past. We're told that RE should be back up and running fully the first week of August. It is good (to us at least) that they made good on their delivery time (a week early actually) for parts we've ordered. We're hoping that it was just a down-time and easy transfer to the new owners and RE will be back and what they were prior to the buy-out. Let's keep our fingers crossed!

Before I go to boot camp...
Motion Offroad replied to Paul Bruchal's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
If you find a better price on the Spartan Locker than we have it listed the company is in breach of their contract with Yukon. We have it listed at MAP; so you shouldn't find a better price anywhere on it. If you consider that "jewing" that's fine; however we honor our manufactures MAP policy and will continue to honor their request and abide by our contracts with them. -
The problem is that the MJ shackles from the factory are longer. XJ shackles physically bolt upto the MJ; however the advertised length of lift will not be the same. Take aprox 3/4-1" off. For example if it's advertised as 1.5" of lift on an XJ you'll get aprox 1/2 - 3/4" of lift on a MJ. If your looking for an aftermarket "stock" height shackle for your MJ I'd recommend going with the JKS boomerang shackle (OGS651). Super beefy, greasable, and will offer no-very minor lift on your MJ.

Here is what Safari Snorkel has to say about them... CLICK HERE EDIT: For some reason CC is putting the ' in don't automatically. You'll need to remove the ' in the URL.

Which Novak shifter linkage, advice needed.
Motion Offroad replied to knever3's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
We've used the original one (SK2X) before and it works well. I never knew they even had the cable one; must be fairly new... -
We've seen the carrier bearings fail on the 8.25" on more than one occasion. This will cause a "pop" or "clunk" sound as well. Our assumption is due to the adjustors coming loose, which allows for movement in the carrier is the reason for failure. You may want to just look at the bearings closely while you have it apart and see if they are still good. Be aware the the 8.25" is considered a "noisy" axle. It'll produce a decent amount of sound even with everything setup properly and within spec.

Go Beserk flares for XJ on MJ?
Motion Offroad replied to Groundpounder's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
All Iceland products are currently about 30-45 days lead time (made to order). I talked with Emil yesterday and he doesn't have any flares on the shelf. -Adam -
Not sure about the HD kit, but I know that the new Rough Country kit won't fit the MJ without modification as the shackle boxes are different between the XJ & MJ. The shackle relocation boxes (in my opinion) are not needed on the MJ's as we don't deal with shackle angle's like the XJ guys do. If you do, a simple boomerang shackle fixes the issue.

Go Beserk flares for XJ on MJ?
Motion Offroad replied to Groundpounder's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Yes they fit. We've sold a few sets to the MJ guys. You may have to trim just a smudge (they are fiberglass so it's easy) to get the contour correct at the bottom. If you specify when ordering that you want them for a MJ we can let Emil @ Iceland Offroad know and he'll contour them specifically for the MJ if you like. -Adam -

Backspacing question
Motion Offroad replied to zagscrawler's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
We've ran 35's on a 8" rim for years without issues (even airing down to 12psi without beadlocks). I personally wouldn't run a 10" wide rim as you pop the bead a lot easier. With a 8" wide rim you'll want 3.5-4" backspacing with a 12.5" wide tire. Here is a photo for reference running 35x12.5 with a 15x8 w/3.75" BS. -
bed lining the rockers and lower part of bed?
Motion Offroad replied to 702_MJ's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
The Rustoleum spray-on bedliner works and looks great; especially for on the trail touch-ups when you scratch the paint on the wife's XJ and don't want her to know! :D -
Maybe with a completely dead seat of factory leafs. We've never seen them net that low of lift before. Your looking more at 5.5-7" of lift depending on condition and what type (2wd/4wd/Metric Ton).
