  1. What I really liked about the alcans were they seemed to flex great right from the start. They were not stiff like I hear ppl complain about with other springs. Also since they are custom made for your rig, and what you carry makes it nice
  2. Letting the town know your coming through with that chattering and that cool, arctic blast of wind, eh? Something like that :nanner: Like i said it was free... it has cost me more to insure then it has to operate so far  I have driven this thing back and forth to work for 18 months now..
  3. I just got the mail and my issue is there.. I shall check later
  4. It came today :jump: I all ready put it together :wrench: and drilled some holes with my new annular cutters  Man this thing drills through metal like no tommorow. Bumper progress shall insue  as soon as it isnt insanely hot :ack: I worked on some welding before it came, and started to get heat crampsa even though I was drinking anywhere between 60 to 80 oz. of fluid an hour
  5. Nice Just bring it on down, or I will give you Chad's number and you can bring it right to him :wrench: I think IF I mean when Jeff decides to go SOA, I can find enough junk in my garage to get him 6+ up front  I think he should go right to 35's and break out the sawzall and plasma cutter and clear them with 3" of lift
  6. I drive a 90 olds cutlass supreme (pimp ride) Gets 27-30 mpg was free 2 yrs ago. motor knocks like the pistons are going to go through the side (this was why it was free) A/C still blows cold
  7. Thats cool... should have used the rear bumper then.. that way you could have shown how tough it was as well :D
  8. I am not sure if that makes the axle a full floater. Since the rotors are supported by bearing I would say yes, but I am not 100% I can't answer your question about the hubs.. I am pretty positive that a d44 hub is a d44 hub
  9. here is pretty much what you need even though Johnathan is going to keep the tranny http://mpjai.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=6460
  10. I had custom packs made for Pong 2 yrs ago and they were 480 to my door shipping was kinda high, but man I love those leaves... they will be going on another project now... Thinking about stretching the wheel base on one of my XJ's
  11. I am going to say try and give Alcan a call... thats what I have on Pong
  12. I struggled with this decision myself. I spent good money to have my axles delivered, but I got complete useable axles out of a running rig. Heck the brakes were new as well as the rotors :D Sometimes you have to look for complete rigs. Ex-militaryrigs can be had for under 1500 most times, and they came with 4.56's and a rear locker. Plus a lot of desirable parts that you can sell. Watch out for the hidden expenses that has been pointed out... U-bolts for these beas are not cheap. Niether are brake parts. Lastly watch out for the Bronco's and f-100/f150 trucks for the front d-44, after 76 the radias arm wedges were cast on the axle. Before that they were welded, and can be taken off and resold to the ford freeks. (by the way I have a set of these pre 76 axles if interested)
  13. Call it my anal nature.. I won't work on a vehicle unless it is supported by tires or jacks :brows: Maybe I have had bad luck with crap I have owned... never been able to do just one side with out a whole lot of fighting and cussing.
  14. I havent personally done it, but I know a few ppl that have, and prices vary depending on size. Look for it to be roughly 500 to 1000 bucks. Opt for the additonal insurance if offered
  15. OK lets keep in mind that my favorite tools are my plasma cutter and sawzall :D
  16. When I built the rails for Pong (back a few yrs ago, Jeff has the old ones) I mounted them right behind the LCA moount, towards the back of the cab, and about 3" in front of the rear spring hanger and all three angles were different. This was on a LWB rig. I don't know how much of a difference there was in a SWB rig
  17. I like yota's Beefy axles, decent motors... decent t-cases... the only thing I dontlike is the ppl with them think they are gold
  18. MY uncle met someone online, and ended up getting married and they have been together for about 5 yrs now. My wife has a friend who uses those dating sites.. or at least some of them, and she has it going on as far as personality, good job, and she has her own house, but there has to be something wrong with her cause she got it going on on the surface. I think she is a wack job  You can meet some really nice girls.. you just have to look in the right places.

The things when you do when you are younger definately catch up with you.... I use to be really big into working out... now since I stopped.. I am just really big  I can definately realte about welding... I lurned to use a flux core machine with just sun glasses... once I started welding with a shield my eyes felt much better
  20. You have to choices... fix what you got, or find a MJ in better condition and swap bed parts
  21. There is a lot of work involved in doing this yourself. A guy in the local club Chris did it, and by the time it was all said and done he had close to 2500 in a 4.7 stroker  Which seems like a lot to me, comsidering most of the parts were given to him like the 258 block, and a HO motor
  22. I strongly recommand supporting the rig for this. Also removing of the lower control arms makes it easier to do the uppers
  23. Do you have a sign-up for folks interested in a new rear bumper? Any link to threads with info on the project? Thanks. I am hoping to have a bumper jig built here soon. I want the fit to be perfect, and since my rig has been "slightly" modified, I can't use it. Also ther is a geat deal of expense in doing it "right", and I have to make money at a real job so I can afford to do it
  24. The problem with meking the rock rails is the frame has three different angles on it, and they are all different. I am currently trying to find suitable rigs to make jigs out of. Also there are so many different ways to make and mount them, and there truly isn't a one size fits all solution to making the rock rails. As for the rear bumpers... I am hoping to have a few prototypes out in a few more weeks. I almost lost intrest in making them cause the demand really isnt there to justify the expense of building jigs.
  25. I didnt have that problem with my setup on Pong.. the LA's were just used as ramps :brows:
