I was wondering if there was a website so I could figure out what d44 carrier I got with a lock right I bought. Or where the numbers should/would be to tell me.
-
Ironic, no? Don't worry though, my 90 and 88 are waiting patiently in line. Problem is that other stuff keeps breaking and cutting in line ahead of them. :( But I've got a huge pile of parts and lots of plans. :D Someday I might actually get to them... I can totally relate to what you said.

Cool rigs.. but I want to see some pics of the builds :D always need ideas :brows:

I am with him. That never happens down here. I have bought a bunch of running Xj's for around that price... well not lately but a yr or two ago...But I went to stripping half ton and 3/4 ton fords... and never paid over 200 for them  You just have to know where to look... also ppl have to know that you will come get their crap, and take it away when you say you will :brows:
-
Your wife rocks... Mines not as cool as yours.. but mine told me to get my crap running by Sept, so I can take a family friend wheeling  Needless to say parts are being bought, appointments made... The turd will be caged and locked front and rear, and ready to wheel by July 1

The only issue I have with DIY beadlocks is most ppl don't set them up properly. By this I mean they don't true the rim after installor as they are installng the inner ring. No biggie for a trail machine... but can be a problem on a street driven rig.

He is going to need a bus license to drive it on the road.. seriously lots of good fab work on it... really inventive
-
To me is was a matter of I cut the back of my rig off  had to have a way to fuel it :D The other advantages are true roll over protection, so fuel doesnt leak out. The ability to have an external fuel pump Also the ability to design a suspension, and not have to sacrafice different aspects of your links cause there is a tank in the way
-
BUy the MSD fuel pump seen in the jegs catalog. Keep in mind that by the time you buy all the AN fittings, you are going to be in the hole about 5 bills give or take. BTW the MSD pump is loud, but a perfect match. Also run a fuel filter, I did one of them fancy chrome ones

will xj gas tank fit in my mj?
pingpong replied to 603Redneck's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
You ever wheel your MJ? If so you will know why. If you don't wheel it.. I guess you could put it back there, but it would change you whole weight distribution, and probably sag your springs even faster, being where the weight would be -
The blue one seems to be missing something  :D Congrats on both additions

One of the reasons why gas prices are so high, is the devaluation of the American dollar. Just say thanks to the Federal Reserve for lowering intrest rates again  Sure they are trying to bail out the home owners and home builders, but all they are really doing is fueling another housing crisis. TOOO many home being built out of the range of a normal working class family, so they buy a house they can't afford.. then the car, then the refinance... and can't afford any of it  I guess the average ppl who bought a modest house, and live within their means will have to bail them out too

Well, I am going to be totally honest. The cage isn't worth a thing. One it is poorly designed and offers very little if any support for a roll over. BY this I mean there isnt a hoop going from one side to the other. No diagnol bracing. I won't comment on the way the joints were done... lets just say.. not very good. You showed us a pic of the front bumper mount... that all has to be redone. My honest opinion.. if it runs in its current condition... 500-750, and not a penny more.

will xj gas tank fit in my mj?

MJ tank is more of a rectangle... Longer and taller. Where as a xj tank is kinda squareish. Also the xj tank slopes up in the rear. I think the issue with fitting one would be the width, and how close it would be to the driveshaft. -
Wow... to see all the ppl running over 5" with out a SYE is amazing. The problem with higher lifts and not running a SYE revolve around the runout on the slip yoke. IT will slowly wear the seal causing you to develop a leak. Sure you can live with out one, but in extreme flex situations you stand the chance of dropping your driveshaft. AT 3" you don't need one.

what kind of racing is that truck built for?
-
I can see why ppl start off with a high bid. that is their reserve. Personally not worth anywhere near that.
-
There is a convertable one listed in the local trading paper. I always thought they were cool, but I bet their owners are strnager then MJ owners  being that they are older and rarer
-
Man... Glad you are all right. Sorry to hear you wrecked a second vehicle.

E-brake handle from Cherokee console
pingpong replied to Tomahawked's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
If you take the e brake hande and associated bracket form under a XJ, it should be an easy retrofit. Basically you need to make the section that goes from the center of the cab to where the ebrake cables come off the axles. -
In my experience... "shop cages" cost lots more cause you are having to pay way to much in Labor :brows: If you go by the 50% rule that make the rig worth 1500, plus figure a 1000 cause it runs good.. give 2500, and then spend another 1000-1500 making it the way you want.

Good luck Jeff. I would say yo could come get my trailer.. but I don't think your 4 popper would pull it down the interstate...
-
Congrats man I guess you could make one if you were creative enough.. and had lots of time to do it

The bad thing is.. a Police Officer doesn't have to pull over every violation, most only pull over what they can get convictions for. As far as certain states Officers being a--holes, well the taxpayers elect the Sheriff, and the Sheriff sets policies that he wants to be enforced. Remember the law might be stupid, but it is to protect you and other motorists. Example: You kick a rock up.... Dude in the newer truck gets piseed... he follows you and proceedes to take his busted windshield out on your rig/person. OR he gets your insurance info, and files a claim against you for it. I knwo it is an extreme example.. but can and does happen.
