I try to avoid mud at all costs. I think I am going to weld some tabs to the back of the cab, and get a piece of lexan to put there for the days when I am out wheeling in the rain or the snow.

Holy moly! You used RED Loc-Tite? What'cha gonna do when you need to change a hub/bearing unit, or replace the rear brake shoes? I think I would have started with purple, and maybe progressed up to blue if the purple didn't work. I don't use red on anything. I am only running the spacers on the rear. Also since I am running the 8.8 it is real easy to get to the brake lines. Factor in the no bed... and it don't matter. Spidertrax recommends using the red, and even sends a small tube of it with the spacers. Like I said I have never had an issue with them coming loose

My exo cage door bars are in the way of putting a door back on :D I made the choice of going doorless, and to remove the back window, when I made my rig strictly a trail rig
-
you forgot to other deisngs and colors though. The flat primer look :D and the Rusty bubbled paint look :(

Doors on a trail rig are over rated :D It is a big inconvience on cold or rainy days not having doors, or a back window for that matter

What type of muffler should I run?
pingpong replied to sinned96's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I have been running glass packs on my rig since day one :D . Real easy, just put a turn down on the end of it as well. Cheap easy and efficient to replace if you get trail damage. I just replaced from my exhaust manifold on back, using all new parts for around 150. Might seem a lil high, but everything is still shiney and pretty  -
NO.. I just don't wheel at night  Something about wheeling at night just seems like a doomed situation. Anyways, most Off road parks you go to, and most of the national forrest trails require that you be off the trails by sundown. I think there are a few places out west that have wheeling at night, but I don't know of too many around where I live. I don't have any problems with my Tail gate :D I guess that has something to do with that it is not on the truck though

I was thinking the caption should read "dive dive dive"

anyone run 31s with SOA lift?
pingpong replied to Oizarod115's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I fitt 33's on a 2"bb with plenty of fender cutting too  Also keep in mind that when you install a 3" lift, you normally get 4-5, and when you install a 5.5 you get somewhere around 7-8", and it has stayed that way even though I have a heavy @$$ winch bumper, and a winch on the front. V8 ZJ coils, how much lift?
pingpong replied to mjeff87's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Jeff, They might net you an inch, maybe a touch more. I hope they were not to hard to pull. To me they would not be worth the effort when coil spacer are less then 30 bucks :( -
FuelPump/Sending unit can not find
pingpong replied to Speedbump's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Napa does sell them, I think you might just have an incompotent help. Anyways... for the same money you can buy a MSD or EP2000 fuel pump and run it inline. I don't know how you would overcome this with a stock gas tank, but it is very easy to overcome with a fuel cell :D -
I am just wondering what was going thru their minds as that rig sank

Personally I would take those 2.5 ton rockwells out from under the duece and ahalf and put them under the MJ  BTW nice rig, now wheel it and cause some damage to it

I like :D I am curios about how you have your rear springs set-up, and would like to know more info. Nice looking rig -

A poopload of pictures of how I just got it...

Truggy.. lets see how do you explaing my rig :? Just check out the link in my signature, and that is what some ppl consider a truggy. The peugoet is a manual transmision, not an auto matic The 727 came behinnd the 258 and the v-8 motors that amc offered. I agree that more then likely it is the 904 As for the cinder blocks. Anuthing I can break with a hammer, is not something I would be crawling under with a 3000+ pound jeep on. Jack stands are cheap, do you life a favor and stop risking it. -
I think some of the early model ford coils will work, problem is spring rate is to stiff. New coils are not that expensive. In most cases they are around 125, unless you start going over 6" then they get around the 150 zone. To me it isnt worth the hassle to buy used parts, that might give me some lift, or might not. Sometimes the cheap way is the more expensive way in the long run

We got a lot of wind and about 1/2" of rain.. and that was about it :( There was some nice lightning but that was far off

I was going to say the same thing. That even scares me  As for your rig. Are you sure it is the 727 and not some other tranny? Anyways if it was mine I would be making a truggy out of it  I would definately look at upgrading the D35. for the price of the parts you are going to need to fix your brakes, you can buy an 8.8 out of a pick-a-part place and solve your rear axle issue. As for swapping front axles. I know Pete has done it, and I am in the process of collecting parts to swap my front axle. I am swapping in a dodge d60, so this might be a lil more then you need. I say get it runniong and then wheel the pi$$ out of it -
I had an S-10 that had the hardtop convertable top on it. This was back in my lowrider days  It was cool in the warmer drier months, but it really sucked when it rained, or when I left the top at home and got stuck in a sudden VA thundrstorm. Check the lowrider mags, I am sure they still make those kits. they were not that expensive back in the late 90's. they were around 400 bucks. Just remember to stiffen the frame a lil. For the paint I would use a primer, and buy a quart of base coat green. Then experiment a lil til you come up with the right shade of green(make sure you use an accurate measuring system so you can repeat the color) Patrick

Rock lights  You don't need no stinking rock lights :D

coil to spring conversion
pingpong replied to johnny quest's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Is this a trick question? Obviously if you are asking us this question you have not researched it very much. Most ppl use wagoneer springs or custom leafs up front. The only real issue is steering in my opinion, and considering the overall weakness of the D30, an axle upgrade would be inorder. A d44 with flat top knuckles would be my choice. The other issue would be, maing sure the "frame" is beefed up enough at the spring mounting points. Also pinion angle might be an issue if using a LP axle. search pirate and naxja for more info -
Yeah, that was an imp0ressive storm that came through  I don't think it was as bad as they were predicting though. At least not where I live. Hey how did that battery work for you? Patrick

as far as Iknow 84 was the first, but they could have started production in 83 and called it an 84
