  1. You don't need self tappers. Bolts I'm using are the original bolts off the XJ. Torx, but the heads sit flush like they're supposed to so the thinger can slide over it.
  2. That's what I said... Don't misquote me. . . . . :rotf:
  3. You can see it in the second one too, it's up by the truckbox.
  4. Don't cars come with odometers anymore? It's getting to the point to where if you can't be bothered with knowing when to bring your car back in for service, you shouldn't friggin drive.
  5. I believe the first year was 93.
  6. Those things should be factory on everything. My mom had an 85 Cavalier. In order to get at the oil filter, you had to remove the right front tire, and the unbolt a plate inside the wheel well.
  7. Sure can. Any 84-94(5)? column should be a direct fit as long as the plugs match up, which I think they're all the same. Airbag columns can go in, but I'm not sure what's involved.
  8. That sucks. I've definitly sworn at a caravan before(well a voyager). Thing was the biggest hunk of crap my parents ever bought. I've been lucky enough to not be hit with hot coolant. Just three cold showers.
  9. Regardless of what you do, definitly get a bill of sale and make sure the guy signs it. I also say fix it up. It looks to be pretty decent, hate to see another good one get parted out.
  10. That wouldn't be true on a 91 or 92. What year we talking?
  11. I don't know of any sites. I'd say get it. If there's a problem, you already contacted the authorities and they didn't do anything. I would give the DMV a call too, but I doubt they're gonna be any help.
  12. Damn, I didn't know you paid that little for it. Good deal bud, hopefully I'll get to see it in a few weeks.
  13. XJ roof racks
  14. yea i had three people including myself working on it, and yea brake fluid burns when it gets in your eye :grrrr: Haven't had that, but gas and coolant aren't any fun either. Rust is always a favorite.
  15. Does it stay at 70 after you drive around for awhile? My XJ does that but after a few minutes of driving it settles down to 40ish. Sounds like you grabbed a sender from an idiot light cluster. That's exactly how they behave with a light sender and a gauge.
  16. Use all of em'
  17. Wow. I'm surprised he blew out the front and not the T-case.
  18. I liked that movie...
  19. Was the rear DS still attached when he did that?
  20. Then you'd just get people gumming up threads with stupid comments, or they won't see it as worth it and an active member will miss out on something they need or a good deal. As long as they don't join just to spam I don't see a problem with it. What I find annoying, is that of the 2,516 registered members, 931 of them have 0 posts.
  21. Might even be able to get money from them too. Good luck though, hope it works.

    A tale of woe

I'd be more concerned with metal shavings getting into the transmission. You'd need it spinning so you can cut all the way around it. You could do a variation of it... Get the case in there, mark where you would make the cut like he suggested, pull it out and cut it outside of the truck.
  23. Either there's air in the line, or you have a massive leak. I would bleed the hell out of it. Your best and most expensive option would be to throw in an external slave AX-15
