  1. What year? It looks pretty decent.
  2. Not as bad as I'd expected. They're just new stains on top of old stains anyway. If I can find the money, I'm gonna clean it up as much as I can, paint it, and do an expoxy coat so future stains will literally wipe right off. Then they can't complain about me doing car work, because the oil stains is the reason they gave me for not wanting me to do it. They already approved me painting, too. Just gotta get the $$$.
  3. They're not parallel, they're just not clocked as much as the XJ/MJ ones. I believe the difference is about 6 degrees. I have one of each, I can take pics of them side by side.
  4. This is what I do. Restart and boot into safe mode. Run your system restore to a date before when you clicked on the thing. When that's done, do a search for *.exe created on that day. Delete the .exes I've found that most anti-virus software doesn't do a damn thing, that's why I don't run any. Most of anything I get I can remove myself. If you end up needing to reinstall windows, partition windows off into it's own thing so you won't have to loose your stuff in case you have to do it again.
  5. He said early 8.25, not early D35. The D35 went to a C-clip design before the 8.25 was even used. Also, D35C does not specify C-clip, it's Dana 35 Custom, which I believe is was they tagged it as when they weren't getting whole axles shipped and had to glob them together themselves. I do agree with you though, while the 27 spline shafts are barely stronger than the D35 shafts, that housing and axles tubes are a hell of a lot beefier than the D35.

    Hail!

That really sucks.. We've had bad hail here but I've never suffered any damage. I have to ask... duck?
  7. Yes you're flywheel will be fine. All 91-01 Flywheels should be the same, and I know 91-95 are the same. I can't answer about the pilot bushing. I've never personally bought one seperatly, but if you get a new clutch kit, it should come with one. Test fit it on the AX-15's input shaft and you should be good to go. I would bet the manual and automatic ones are different, just to make things complicated.
  8. I doubt it... I was under the impression the swb wasn't even designed until they were prepping for the 87 model year.
  9. Since my dad got his new one, we've decided to strip out both the donor and the receiver to save his innerds. Got the first one stripped today, going to the crusher in the morning. Many, many, many thanks to $500 MJ, automan2164 +1, in helping me get this all done in one day! As the title says, still got one to go. No motor or trans in this one, but I need to change both axles. Still not sure when this will happen. Still probably a few weeks away. The more people that can come, the better, even if you're not wrenching! I'll post up possible dates when I get some.
  10. Internal and external flywheels are the same. Bellhousing, clutch, bearing retainer, literally everything else in there is different. The clutch disc itself is the same, but I'm not sure if the PP is the same or different.
  11. 91+ D35s are C-clips. At least all 3 of my 91s and my 92 D35 are.
  12. The best way to do it is to drill a hole in the bolt, heat it up, and pull it out with an easy-out. Then drill out the old threads and re-tap it to the next biggest size.
  13. Cheesey? :rotf:
  14. With a 4.0 in an XJ/MJ the valve cover and bellhousing would probably start hitting the firewall if you lifted it any.
  15. Longer arms would hit the plate. Some longer arms have a bend to them so the they don't hit the plate. http://www.rukindustries.com/store/imag ... edjeep.gif As for your sway bar... you'll need longer swaybar links. Don't cut up the bar.
  16. Long arms or longer control arms? Long arm kits are a different animal. Just wanna make sure you get your terminology right.
  17. No, that was an extra core. We had the 4.0 from the first Jeep we had and they only took it because he was buying a motor. They said they had too many sitting around. We gave them two core motors. I think it would have been a lot more if he didn't have any cores. He did all this before I knew anything about Jeeps, otherwise I wouldn't have let him get rid of it like that.
  18. At least check and do an alignment before you tackle anything that's gonna cost you money. All this will cost you is about 30 minutes and swearing when your vicegrips just turn on the tierod. http://www.quadratec.com/jeep_knowledge ... cle-48.htm Then instructions and pic were taken from a TJ, but the parts and process are all the same.
  19. Madison area: best/easiest place to find a job right now, in the entire country. Detroit: Highest unemployment level in the entire country. Not saying there's jobs flowing down the streets like butter here, but he got a pretty good job and I can't say I wouldn't have moved either. Come on over, we'll start the grill and chill the beer!
  20. This is the paperwork my dad sent me. It says something about more info on the other side, but he only scanned the front. I think the shop only told him that because they didn't want to admit to not having one for him. I seriously doubt any vehicle, ever, would have had more than a few different parts like that on one motor in one year. And no, I'm not trying to buy it from him. Just trying to sell it for him. Since he got his new XJ we're scrapping out his old one because the body just rotted out to crap. I too had been thinking in the 3-500 range, definitely on the lower end since it'd be going to a club member and the one interested is coming up here to help pull it out.
  21. Hey, he saw the grass was greener... :clapping:
  22. If your draglink has a bend in it, your alignment is completely out of whack, which is probably what caused the tire to go bad. Is it just the one tire, or both?
  23. Yessir, all that stuff's identical
  24. Why will it only go in a 91? Should work just fine in any 91-95 OBDI Jeep. Yes, I know that, but I think that's why he wants so much for it. The building company also told him there were 25 different valve covers used in 91, and that's why he had to reuse his old one.
  25. Was it money you took directly out of your bank account, or was it already sitting in your paypal account from money you've received? If it didn't come straight from the bank then there really won't be anything they can do.
