  1. Didn't see it in the FAQ... Subject: 1991 2WD with AX-15 Can trans be "reused" in swap? (i.e. is the output shaft the same) I'm guessing the output housing will change but are the guts the same? Thanks
  2. So, I have brake lights on one side (passenger) only. I believe bulbs and most of wiring to be OK because....I have taillights on both sides, turn signals work on each side AND flashers work on all corners. Anybody able to provide wiring diagram?? or insight?? Thanks Tim 91 MJ
  3. For additional cooling help in very hot weather I picked up the electric AC cooling fan. I also grabbed the relay out of the fuse box. Does anybody have instruction on how to wire using a manual switch on the dash? I found an open 2 wire plug (green/black) on drivers inner fender, that traces to the relay, but these are 18 or 16 ga wire. The junkyard fan has 10 or 12ga. Does the non-AC harness have everything I need? other than wires to dash switch... thx Tim 91 MJ 4.0 AX15 SB
  4. Thanks- I realize all the clutch stuff is different. Can I use my 91 flywheel and it sounds like I can. My other concern is the pilot bearing. I'm trying to nail all this stuff ahead of time to minimize downtime.
  5. Have a 93 engine previously attached to an AT that I want to swap into my 91 MJ w/AX15 Checking rock auto it appears the 93 and 91 use different pilot bearings. The 93 engine does have a bushing for the torque converter to center on. Do I remove this or does the pilot brg fit into it? Also planning to swap to external slave. Any issues using 91 flywheel with LATER style clutch to match external slave? Thanks Tim 91 MJ
  6. Cleaning up the inside and looking for something to contain the dirt/mud that gets tracked in. I know the back half of the floor is different ( just swapped in buckets). Is the front close enough to get a good fit on XJ Husky liners?? Anybody running them? They were a great addition to my WJ. thx Tim 91 MJ 4.0 AX-15 SWB
  7. Eagle- I compared frame brackets and I couldn't find any difference. My axle bracket did look different than the junkyard truck. But I figured that was due to the j'yard truck having vacuum disconnect while my truck doesn't. Guess I need an adjustable bar .........
  8. Yes I'm sure its stock, if anything it may be sagged down, which would put the axle over to the other side. Old picture on cardomain search "relixracing" Its on a trailer but straps were on axles so suspension it not compressed. Tires were 225/75's no rubbing- now with 235/75's lots of rubbing just turning during parking. Once I swap the arms out I'll put it on the ground w/o track bar to see how things look. Thinking about this overnight- I'm going back to parts store to see what pre-91 track bar looks like. Maybe truck had axle swap at sometime. OR can someone tell me what changed between early and late styles?
  9. 91 MJ 4wd stock height- My front axle is offset about an inch towards the drivers side. So much that the DS upper arm is all banged up from hitting the frame. Thought the track bar was bent, scored a junkyard one. It was the same as mine. Went to the parts store and had them pull a new one out of the box- same length as mine. No obvious collision frame damage. Control arms appear straight- Put Energy Suspension bushings in the lowers several months ago. Doing new upper arms w /bushings later this week. Trackbar frame bracket looks fine- not bent. It was the original and it matches the one I got with the junkyard arm. I can't imagine I need an adjustable track bar for stock height. What am I missing? thanks, Tim
  10. Are they the same on all 4wd? The reason I ask is my front axle appears to be shifted to one side. Thinking track bar may be bent... Hard to check since fenders are not perfectly straight. Mine measures 30.5" from center of pass side hole to grease fitting. Grabbed another at the wrecking yard from an MJ The only difference-donor truck had vacuum disconnect while mine doesn't. Mounting bracket on pass. side looked different. This bar measures about 31.375". Anybody have a stock one laying out in the garage to measure? Thanks Tim 91 SB 4.0 AX15
