  1. That thing is too pretty to part out or park as a donor. I say fix it up even nicer and drive it, or sell it.
  2. I wouldn't even consider 2k for that, even if they'd brushed it off first..
  3. Make sure you have the steering wheel unlocked when you do this!
  4. CPS is actually attached to the bellhousing. It's held in by two 11mm bolts. The sensor you're thinking about is the Coolant temp sensor. If you pull that out, you're going to get a green shower. You can see the CPS on the top driver's side of the bellhousing in this pic:
  5. a house lol......theres a guy not too far from me that has a awsome J-10....ive yet to see a J-20 in person :/ I saw a rust free, 258/4 speed 4wd J20 a few years ago that had a factory stepside box. I took a picture, but if it still exists, it's buried at my mom's house somewhere.
  6. The ballast resistor was added during 87. My family's first Jeep was an 87 XJ, and it had one. But that's beside the point. The resistor is bypassed during startup. If the resistor was bad, it would start, run for a second, then die. My first personal XJ did that when the resistor went out. If you have one, it will be located on your driver's side inner fender. To jump it, simply pop both wires off and connect them directly.
  7. sounds like the motor will turn over just not light off. Guess I'm more tired than I thought..
  8. Does it crank, or will it not even turn over?
  9. If you have a micrometer... why not just check the tip of the input shaft on your trans?
  10. Cruise has NOTHING to do with the ECU Pre-91.
  11. I seem to recall, two winters ago, Madison, WI got a record 140ish inches during the winter. I'd have to verify that.. but that's the number my brain is telling me. :hmm:
  12. Lock the CAD if you have one. It's free. viewtopic.php?f=9&t=18415
  13. I haven't done any in MS Paint, but when I was in HS, I did a Comanche in actual paint.
  14. I hope you got something else to bum around in during the... *ahem* "storms". Your truck is waaaaaaay too pretty to get hit. Either that, or I recommend several hundred yards of bubble wrap.
  15. 10" can seem like quite a bit if you're not used to it.. :rotf:
  16. Gearing has nothing to do with 4wd. If you're keeping your rear axle, the gearing in your front axle will simply have to match. Gearing comes from Engine and transmission combinations.
  17.
  18. There are a lot of Jeeps that have a 4.2L I-6. in them.
  19. Well, I didn't think they made SWB MTs either... but I also didn't know, until recently, that they made LWB Eliminators. It's not out of the realm of possibility that MT Springs and a D44 were swapped in at some point, or the original owner didn't specifically request the MT package on a SWB. They'd do whatever options you wanted if you paid them enough.
  20. The concept of the I5 has always somewhat irked me. If you're going to go through the trouble of that... why not keep it Jeep and go for a 4.0... which, you know, has an even number of cylinders. Nothing I would do, but certainly be a one of a kind.
  21. How'd you hook up the fuel lines? 93 had a return line.. 99 didn't.
  22. Can you get ahold of those books for all the years?
