  1. 29 spline 8.25 out of an XJ.
  2. There's a huge difference between the TJ/YJ shifter and the XJ/MJ shifter. You'll want the MJ/XJ variety. I've been told that the lower shifter part (the piece inside the shifter hole, that the nylon piece sits in, with the arm going to the shift rails) is also different, so you'll need to swap that to an XJ/MJ one too. I haven't personally verified that, but I trust the source.
  3. The shifter might come in handy.
  4. You'll need the crossmember and mount. Front driveshaft from a BA 10/5 will be the same length as the AX-15's. You would have needed to switch T-case anyway, since the AX-15 has a 23 spline output, and the pukey has a 21.
  5. 87 and 92 are not interchangeable. HO ECUs are completely different from the Renix ones. They don't even mount in the same place. He'll need an 87, 88, 89, or 90 4.0 Auto ECU.
  6. That's your trackbar. It's what keeps the axle centered under the truck and prevents side to side movement. Right now it's a clunk, but it'll get worse and develop into death wobble. You can replace the bushing on the axle, but unfortunately if the TRE on the frame side is bad, you'll need a new trackbar. I would look into an adjustable designed for lifts(even if you're not lifting), simply for the fact that adjustables have replaceable ends. Check to make sure the bolt hole in the axle bracket hasn't wallowed out when you replace it.
  7. Year?
  8. :needpics: You mentioned a carb. 86 with a 2.8?
  9. x2 and how does he use his blinkers You usually run with your 4-ways on when delivering mail, and it probably isn't driven much for anything else.
  10. You weren't as stuck as you thought you were. A bicycle could have pulled you off that.
  11. :ack:
  12. I remember some time ago someone posted up a picture of an MJ with a stepside Ranger bed fabbed up, and it was very nicely done.
  13. I've rounded them off with the proper socket. Even with a socket, they're still somewhat of a pain to get to. Replacements are cheap, and you'll have the solace of knowing you have a regular hex bolt in there when/if you need to remove them again.
  14. I don't see how you're going to be able to use that. The coil does not sit flat on the coil bucket on the axle.
  15. You might be better off finding a whole replacement axle, The C may have gotten bent when it dropped.
  16. Not personally, but I have heard of it happening. I'd say you're pretty lucky you didn't end up rolling it many, many times. I've had two come apart during removal before I realized that my dad was wrong, and slide hammers are not a good idea to take those off.
  17. WD - 40 is not penetrating. It's a lubricant. You need to use Penetrating Blaster.
  18. So it apparently reset the votes when I added the other options. Didn't know it would do that.
  19. Mail delivery people usually prefer a RHD vehicle, and RHD XJ's aren't the easiest thing to come by. Almost all privately owned mail delivery vehicles I see are either XJs or KJs.
  20. Looks pretty well done actually.
  21. He's not a member here why? Go. Fixit. Now.
