    newest new guy!

    Welcome! :clapping:
  4. Sold for $250? Anyone send the lucky sucker a message?
  5. Says the man with a ZJ...
  6. From what I have read, mostly here on CC, AW-4s are hard to trust with rebuilds. The clearances are so tight and specific, it's hard to get it into factory spec. AX-15s, however... :D
  7. Check your TPS. Automatic TPSs have two plugs, one for the ECU, and one for the TCU. Make sure that's plugged in and functioning before buying another TCU. Do you know someone that you could borrow a TCU from just to make sure that's the problem?
  8. How soon do you need it?
  9. I also won't go to Kwik Trip. Was forced to put it in once... Only put in 2 gallons, but the truck ran like poo for a week.
  10. What year are you talking? 84-86 used a flanged CV joint to mount to the T-case. 87+ got a double cardan joint with the 231. Does your T-case have a flange, or a yoke? If you have the yoke, you can grab a front shaft from any 2.5 manual XJ/MJ. Automatic shafts will be a different length, as will 4.0 shafts.
  11. I hauled a 2.5 shortblock, 4wd AX-5/231, 2wd front beam, a bucket of misc. trans pieces, and a spare gas tank in my 2.5. Had an AX-4 at that point, 3.55 gearing. Get-up and go was just fine, stopping wasn't half bad, only noticeable difference in driving was the back liked to sway a lot. MJs don't have a rear sway bar, so watch the turns if you've got anything heavy in the bed.
  12. I used to watch for the commercials, but that isn't even worth it anymore. It's gotten too played-up. I can't even find the halftime shows entertaining anymore... too glitzy and way too long. Makes sense why people get beered-up during it.
  13. Year is the first clue. 92(93, whatever the first year was)-96 is 27 spline. 97+is 29. Otherwise, there is no way for sure to tell without popping the cover. The housings are the same.
  14. I do things in strange and unusual ways. :typing: Saturday I'll compile what we have.. and keep up with regular updates. I like some things the roundabout, more difficult and time-consuming way. If you haven't figured out I'm a little  by now..
  15. 8.25s are nice because they're Jeep.. yes. But for a wheeling truck, the 27 spline versions aren't all that worth it. 29s are. Granted, you can convert a 27 to a 29, but that requires a gear setup as the carriers are different.
  16. I wouldn't bother with a 27 spline 8.25.
  17. ^^ Lives in a town with a cool name.
  18. You're a little mixed up on your years. 91 was the first year for the HO, not 92. As for the differences on the head, I believe the ports are different for the intakes, not the exhaust. Renix manifolds have the O2 sensor on the... HO ones do not. It's in the downpipe.
  19. It'll be fine.
  20. Bears. That is all.
  21. Most of what I know about MJs, and Jeeps in general, came from being a dumbass at some point. Best way to learn.
  22. No... not that fancy. I thought the thread would go on until a certain point, then the data could be compiled from there, when it's done. I could do semi monthly updated or something.
  23. I'm supposed to be getting a copy on DVD, but we haven't gotten anything yet. I'll have Jo email them about it again.
  24. Usually BP, Shell when it's a decent price. All the gas stations close to me are small company names... unfortunately I usually go to citgo. I will not go to any Mobile.
  25. I used to catch the super bowl every year just for the commercials... but since those have completely been flushed down the toilet the last few years, I don't even bother anymore.
