  1. :fool:
  2. A TCU out of an 87-90 4.0 automatic XJ or MJ will work. 4wd or 2wd makes no difference.
  3. I would check the bellhousing bolts.. make sure all 6 are still good and tight. Can you access the pressure plate bolts from the hole for the slave? Check and make sure those are good. What all came with the clutch kit? If the previous clutch wasn't making noise.. it probably wasn't a problem with the clutch itself, but something with the hydraulics.
  4. How long are you gonna run this for Pete? I'd like to get as many members participating as possible... but I'm sure you'd like results soonish.
  5. Sticking IAC is most likely, but it could be an o2 sensor. Pop your IAC out and scrub it down with TB cleaner. Also check around for vacuum leaks.
  6. :wall: I've seen that episode dozens of times. I cannot believe I never noticed. But the bigger question... did they film that, or did they steal the clip from something? I even have that episode on DVD.
  7. Yup... sorry for the crap pic, but this is a HO.. much less cut out of the CPS ring
  8. You must be watching adult swim. I'll have to keep an eye on that. You sure it wasn't a dak?
  9. Oh, the HO ones just have the 3 indents for the CPS, instead of a bunch of teeth?
  10. I think you should quote it Rob.. But really.. Bed Bath & Beyond?
  11. What upper notches? The smaller teeth are for the starter, the bigger teeth are for the CPS. Ask LoTGod... I believe he had a 6ish page no-start thread and it ended up being the wrong flywheel. :rotf:
  12. The drums on my '88 D35 are definately bigger in diameter (and has cooling fins on the outside of the drum) then the drums on my '98 XJ 8.25 axle donor axle :???: Yes... your D35 has the 10 inch diameter brakes. 8.25s got 9 inch diameter brakes. Typically the 10 inch diameter drums got 1.75" wide pads, 9 inch drums got 2.5" I've only heard of the 10 x 2.5 on the D44.
  13. 9 inch and 10 inch brakes do NOT use the same cylinder. The 10 inch cylinder is considerably larger.
  14. Dana 35s came with two different brake sizes. Up through 89 or 90, they got the 10 inch diameter drums with skinnier pads, then they went to the 9 inch diameter drums with wider pads. The 9 inch drums, and all brake components are the same as the 9 inch brakes on the 8.25. The backing plates are even the same, except the 8.25 ones have a slightly larger center hole. The 10 inch stuff cannot be put on a 9 inch D35 or 8.25.
  15. I parked an XJ between them yesterday..
  16. S10s run a divorced case? Might be fun to get that to work in an MJ. Also, you need to consider electronics. The 904 (IIRC) is a completely hydraulically controlled trans.
  17. Trace them back. Two will go to the gas tank... the two won't.
  18. The aircraft radial motors work waaaaay different than a typical car motor.
  19. Have you considered converting to a manual?
  20. Why wouldn't you be able to DD it? Compared to most truck axles nowadays, that people use for DD's, the D44 is tiny. A good number of XJs and MJs came with 44s from the factory. All you need to do is get perches in the correct locations on the 44, and find yourself a slightly shorter driveshaft.
  21. please explain so i don't  The fuel lines run parallel with the brake lines on the frame rail... and they're virtually identical, especially when they're covered with rust. I was amazed when I was under the 99 today putting in the proper linkage, and the fuel line had a tag on it that said: FUEL
  22. Definitely won't be up that soon, but I am getting a bit homesick, so I think once I'm comfortable with the 99, I'll try to get us up there asap.
  23. Those do not look like MJ tails to me.
  24. ^^ hasn't seen my painting
  25. ^^ needs a new avatar.
