I'm over here in Midland and there's a couple MJs around. I've talked to the owners, really friendly and love their trucks. One bought it brand new. My MJ is back in SC, used as a trash hauler by my ol man unfortunately, but he'll drive to the dump with his pup and ALWAYS gets a comment about the truck.

Wagoneer, right? Looks really good with that kind of lift, those don't look like the original 44s. I'd like to know the story of the build.

Just an update for those with similar circumstances, I went with uship. Thanks for the heads up, it went incredibly smoothly. What a great service. -

That's incredibly reasonable. This might be the way I go, thanks. -

I'll look into that, thanks. It's a 26ft, I think 13.5ft tall, forgot width. Nothing crazy, about 5300 pounds dry. How much did that trip cost? -

Correct, I'm already in Texas and would need to head back to SC to bring it back to TX. Probably not really viable unless I just drive my truck, which I wouldn't do. Just trying to see yalls suggestions, maybe I'm missing an option I hadn't thought about. -
No, not with the Comanche, haha. I live in South Carolina, but on an extended contract here in Midland Texas. It's about 1700 miles one way. I'm really not wanting to put the wear and tear on my truck to drive all the way back to turn right around after picking it up, do any of you have experience with hauling your RVs by other means? I contemplated uhaul, but their trucks don't have brake controllers, and it would cost me $1600 one way not including fuel. Ideally I'd fly back to SC (free flights through company) and drive it back. Any thoughts on this? Thanks guys. Trailer: 2024 Grand Design 22RBE, about 26 feet long.

Mornin' Stellantis, time to dust off the Jeep Comanche
AeroNautical replied to Salvagedcircuit's topic in The Pub
I've lost hope for this, all I use the back seat for in my gladiator is a "trunk", haha. But she puts in plenty of work, I'm thoroughly impressed with mine, having gone into it expecting to be disappointed. It tows, hauls and handles just fine, most hate on it due to lack of research, and just wanting to hate Chrysler. It truly is the most bang for your buck in a mid size, like a swiss army knife. Though any midsize is way overpriced, these days. -
Really? I figured they'd just use it as nesting material. Good to know!

Radio Comes on Late After Start
AeroNautical replied to Keyav8r's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Do these use relays? I know cold can affect a wearing relay, I had a similar issue with a starter relay in mine, no crank when cold, but warm and no issue. I could arc the starter with a wrench to start no matter the temp. Good place to start, I suppose. -
Spraying Over Ground Points?
AeroNautical replied to Spinnakerblue89's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I've heard of people using "liquid electrical tape" on grounds before, for the exact reason you say. As long as it's tightened down, and nothing you apply to it can creep under the terminal leads (think penetrant like aerokroil or pb blaster), then I don't see any harm in it. I'd use something easily removed, though. No rhino lining, haha. -

Something so Simple - Hi-Lift Jack Not Working
AeroNautical replied to Drahcir495's topic in The Pub
There should be a lever on the side with a "notch" like shown. When placed upward into the notch, moving the large handle up and down should raise the jack (full travel of the handle). Moving the lever down (I would kick it, don't trust your fingers near it with a load) will lower the jack with the large handle, also moved up and down. I believe it needs to be in the lower position to freely move up and down. It's easy for one to get away from you, or slip. They can be dangerous, like Pete said. -
I'd take a cork and wood coaster for sure, those are pretty nice!

These modern fish finders are so advanced now you can almost get a photographic image of whats on the bottom. I've got a Garmin on my center console and am still blown away with how detailed the sonar images are. I've heard of cold cases being solved by fisherman who were fishing "structure" which happened to be a car with people inside. The most I've found were old bridge supports, but I'd love to find something like this. Kinda like treasure hunting. This is a snapshot of bridge support columns and something I couldnt quite identify, maybe old supports.
