Comanche Buying Opportunity

Hey guys, a while back I bought a Roll Bar off of a Comanche a few hours away from me. While I was there I noticed that the Comanche itself wasn’t in bad shape. It’s a 91’ HO Eliminator with 2WD It had under 150k miles on it if I remember right.

It wasn’t perfect by any means but didn’t appear to be rusted out (most Montana jeeps aren’t) he said there was some blow by and that it probably needs a fuel pump. He said it turns over but he wouldn’t drive it with the fuel issue.

Well this morning (a few months later) he offered to sell me the jeep for $1500!

It feel like a steal but what do you guys think it’s worth worst case scenario if the engine was shot or something?

here’s a picture:

These photos were before the roll bar was removed.

What does everything think? It does have a sliding glass window and what looks to be a rare original grill guard on the front. The interior was relatively clean as well.

I would love to hear everyone’s thought. Keep in mind, id have to rent a truck and trailer and drive 4 hours there and 4 back to get it.

Thanks!

I think that's a pretty good deal. I paid $1500 for mine back in 2018 and it had rust, dents, the Peugeot transmission, and a rod knocking 4.0. The only thing that my truck had that makes it arguably more desirable than the one you posted is that it is 4 wheel drive. But being an Eliminator, that truck should be very well optioned. Bucket seats, most likely a tilt column, AC, etc.
