Wow, they have gone up in price - $400. My first question are they worth it? I am trying to justify getting one. I plan on this being the last jeep I will own (rigght), so why not get it all?

I haven’t done it, but the consensus seems to be that it’s a must do. If I ever have that kind of money burning a hole in my pocket, I would probably do it, but I’m also happy with the way mine shifts.

Well modifying mine is not going to happen , way out of my skill set. Geeze, I was hoping that I would hear back that it's not worth it :D. It shifts fine, but that is crazy money. I will see if I can score one used first, I guess?

Watchamakalit - did the shift boot have to be modified to work?

Dang it - I'm already pricing them out. Quadratec and Summit seem to have the best pricing at this point. Need to make sure they don't charge tax. I will sleep on it.

Absolutely no changes. I could swap it back anytime.

No problem. I was pleasantly surprised with how "original" it looked. Makes driving fun.

Just ordered it from Quadratec. Still anxious about how much I just spent

Got the shifter in now. Looks nice! still having feelings of “can’t believe how much I spent” on it. It may be a little while before I can try it out, but I will post up my thoughts when I do on my build up page ->

I’ve been running the hurst shifter on my MJ and XJ for close to 14 years (on the MJ). They’re great. Accurate and shorter throw. Wouldn’t go back to the stock oar.

There’s some good DIY shifter tech within the first few posts of this thread:

I had already been chewing on the idea of modifying the stock shifter; this post pushed me over the edge!

Heck yeah! If I had the mechanical skills to do mine I could have saved a Lot of money

That B&M is no doubt superior in every way.
