krustyballer16 Posted April 20, 2021 Posted April 20, 2021 Thinking about running a manual steering box in my ls swap MJ...Anybody hate a manual steering MJ? I don't figure it'd be that hard to turn the wheel, just like any other nob power vehicle but just want others' opinions Running manual steering would save me from having to buy Relocation brackets to move the alternator and power steering pump up to clear the steering box Sent from my SM-G973U using Tapatalk
MiNi Beast Posted April 21, 2021 Posted April 21, 2021 have you considered use of a stand alone orbital hydro steering setup?
omega_rugal Posted April 21, 2021 Posted April 21, 2021 i want to know what manual box fits a comanche... for educational purposes...

It's not the worst thing in the world. But, you definitely know theres no power steering. Maneuvering in parking lots (or any low speed) can be a b*@ch, sometimes.
mnkyboy Posted April 21, 2021 Posted April 21, 2021 My MJ originally didn't have it, up to 31" tires it was manageable but once I went to 33s it was a necessity. A street truck with small tires would be ok, you will wish you had power on anything that goes off road.
krustyballer16 Posted April 21, 2021 Author Posted April 21, 2021 Ya, this will be a go fast street truck. 225s probably Sent from my SM-G973U using Tapatalk
88mjsally Posted April 22, 2021 Posted April 22, 2021 I have a manual Steering box in my blue truck but plan to put it back to power steering. It steered around pretty easy but I don’t have all the delete brackets for the 4.0
cruiser54 Posted April 22, 2021 Posted April 22, 2021 You will hate manual steering, especially with an engine heavier than a 2.46 Jeep motor. Not only is it unassisted, it is like steering a tugboat.
