I think a YJ axle *may* also bolt right in.

I’ve heard that they are narrower.

The YJ perches are an inch to inch and a half narrower.

it may if you force but it will end up in a mess, you better off get a comanche axle or modify the cherokee one, if you have a d35 is the perfect chance to upgrade...

I know they are 40.5 center to center on the leaf pads. I remember a topic about swapping an mj 44 into a YJ. It’s been several years back but iirc it was a bolt in.

are you talking axle swap so don't have to replace gear gear? you can replace the internal gears with any d35 from xj. will have to double check backlash but slap it together and run it. you can replace just the spider gears as well if thats the issue with out replacing the whole axle or carrier. but if want a bolt in axle consider the corp 14 bolt, as it bolts right in as a soa conversion. but that's 8 lug 1 ton stuff. but bolt in upgrade for about $150. :grinyes:

Has your driveline angle or length changed?
Is the pinion in the new axle loose?
Those are the likely suspects for vibrations

Well I put new leafs in and it raised it a little. Is there any way to correct the angle?

may need shims under the leafs to correct angle. angle finder is your friend here. and with the new leafs, are they in properly. front to back that is?

Swapping a Comanche axles into a Comanche should give you about the right pinion angle. I would look elsewhere. Something you changed?
