Ultimately, this MJ has traveled the world with us and is now on the island of Guam. It is no where near the MJ I picked up that cold night in St Louis. I would say the craziest story was just the drive home. I bought it at night after making a 5 hr drive from Arkansas to St Louis, MO. It was raining out so I pretty much just started it and then handed the guy the cash. It was an absolute beater. Almost no interior except for the dash and seats which were in very rough shape. The headlights were useless to me and the heater wasn’t doing anything in 20 degree weather. It also felt very anemic which I would later discover came from a massive vacuum leak and a cracked block. When I finally pulled the rubber mats and shabby leftover carpet out, I found there was very little drivers side footwell left. I honestly can’t say how I was able to drive home that night but that little MJ made the 5hr return journey and I was hooked. My dad and I have worked on cars since I was a little kid and this is the last project we have worked on together. Plenty of good memories along the way I won’t forget. CC is Awesome!... Why Do You Think So? Super helpful group of people who are very modest and genuine. I appreciate that everyone here is just an MJ enthusiast plain and simple. I really appreciate the support and help! te Congratulations and what a beauty @ghetdjc320! 2 quick notes 1. Stop drooling 2. If you would like to see your MJ as a future MJotM, please send me a PM. ghetdjc320
Well, after 20+ tire kickers and ridiculous low ball offers I’m keeping it and shipping it to Micronesia with us. One guy offered 15k some offered 10 or less. Some guys said they would only go off of kbb value which just shows how ignorant people really are. One guy said he didn’t like it modified and asked if I would return it all to stock and he would offer me 10k lol. What a joke. Anyways, I just don’t have the ambition to keep dealing with these ridiculous offers. Before I set off for Micronesia I’m really trying to dig up some parts that I’m hoping someone will be generous enough to part with. I really need a set of mud flaps for this truck. Where we’re moving to is one of the wettest places on earth so trying to keep everything in as good of shape as possible. Going to be going over everything at least once every couple of weeks and making sure no rust tries to form. If anyone has a set of mud flaps they’d be willing to part with please let me know. And yes, I know it’s a big ask 😆
fiatslug87
I for one am glad you are keeping it. There is an old writeup with some pics in my signature. Nothing complicated about it - flip the brackets around from the way they're "supposed" to go and drill two new holes in them straight across from where the existing holes are. I’m thinking about just getting another set of fronts and the scarfab brackets to install in the original location. I’ll just trim them to match the original rears if I can’t find any. Need to find another set of fronts now
fiatslug87
@ghetdjc320 That eBay vendor has been listing and selling fronts for a while, contact them to see if they have more.

Just picked up a second set from him for the rears. I’ll trim them with the templates I posted for the rears. Ordered the brackets already so they will look completely stock. Thanks for the tips! bruceb
Love your truck and I have been to Guam many times! Did all the work on your truck take place on Guam? I have two Comanches - one 2WD street and one 4WD for camping. Thanks
