jeeppapa
Found a Comanche Custom 2.5L 2wd got most everything worth getting. Didn’t have time to get the fuel pump. Carpet was worn in a few spots but still good. Never saw a Custom before. Anyone know what made a Custom? Had no idea they were out there. jeeppapa
Did you get the interior? Got the carpet, lights, console, visors, bottom half of the seat had a fitted seat cover in great shape got that and seat brackets. Didn’t pull the steering wheel. With the other exterior stuff the price was getting up there. FYI there’s a D60 under a 87 cherokee at a Yard called Jones in Little Rock Ca. This is the D60 I found under the MJa few months ago. DirtyComanche
That's not a D60. (Neither of them are. The Comanche has a D44 though.)
jeeppapa
That's not a D60. (Neither of them are. The Comanche has a D44 though.) The round diff with the mettle plug appears larger the regular 35 so that is kind of throwing me a bit. It on an 86 or 87 cherokee. An one know any info on the Custom Comanche? An one know any info on the Custom Comanche? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk The diff on the Comanche had a 10 bolt pattern not a 9. From what I’ve read that is the way you tell the difference between the 44 and the 60. My comanche has a 44 with 9 bolts not 10. The how I’m figuring it’s a 60. It not a good pic but I counted them 4 times because I wanted to make sure. Sad news I drove an hour and 15 to pull it and it had already gone to the crusher. Eagle
The Custom was 1986 only. Don't remember for certain but I think it was the top trim level in 1986. The Dana 44 has a 10-bolt cover. https://www.extremeterrain.com/wrangler-jeep-axle-identification.html

8valvehero
Looks like an AMC Model 35. I had one in my ‘86. AMC had their hand in everyone’s parts bin, so no surprise. Should be near identical to a D35 with slight visual changes depending on year.
crumbscomanche
did you grab the lights? Any chance you'd cut a deal on those or just the passenger side @jeeppapa?
jeeppapa
did you grab the lights? Any chance you'd cut a deal on those or just the passenger side jeeppapa? Yes I got them. I have 3 sets in various condition. Meaning plastic mount broken, weathered, or a crack in part of the lens or a chip on the edge of the lens. None have any holes in them. Text me at 816-516-6856 and we’ll talk details. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

That’s a question for my own education on the subject. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
shelbyluvv
It's a Dana 35 with the early cover. Some had rubber plugs and some had the metal plug. Either way that is a 35. It is worthless.

The early D35s are sorta better than the later ones since they aren't c-clip, but that's like saying it's sorta better to accidentally break your left hand instead of your right, neither is really any good at the end of the day.
