3/8" Cordless Ratchet

Looking to replace my trusty(old) Snap-on 3/8" air ratchet with Cordless.

 

 

Would like something, a bit more-portable, that I can use

away from the compressor and also, for trips to the JY.

 

Max Torque(Battery)

and

Manual Torque are important.

 

I would much prefer, button(like above) over long-bar.

Also looking for Quality over Price.

 

Considering Snap-on again but any proven brand will do.

I have the Milwaukee. Love it. Plus, the batteries make an excellent 12V source. Male quick disconnects fit right into the terminals. I use the batteries more than I use the ratchet.

Two things most people do not consider when buying cordless tools-

 

Expandability, decide what and how many tools you will want and need that run off the same battery. 

 

Usage, if you are not going to use it daily, at the very least, weekly............don't bother wasting your money. 

 

 

 

Batteries are expensive, usually more expensive than the tool itself. Batteries need to be cycled regularly.

That's good advice.   I "locked in" on DeWalt 20V tools.  Lots of others are good too.   I had a few different brands before that and although they were good tools using different ones drove me nuts.  Too many batteries, too many chargers and too much walking back and forth to get what I needed.   Storage was a big problem too.   I use an old DeWalt storage case for my batteries and charger.   It sits on top of one of my tool chests along with the tools.   I can access them quickly or take the whole thing to where I'm working if I want to.   The batteries are numbered and are in constant circulation.

I even have a heated winter jacket that runs off the m12 battery packs.....the best part of that is the adapter for the Jacket has a USB output (to charge your phone) as well as a DC output port

Picked up the 3/8" - M12 in February and it has now replaced

and retired, my Snap-On Air Ratchet.

 

The M12 is a real Torque Monster.

Nice! I have them in 1/4 and 3/8. If you think that's strong the newest version of those are twice the torque! (And twice the price)

Back in the late 70s I had a Black and Decker one. It had issues with grease in the charging slots and the ratchet mechanism only went 3 turns before you had to wind it back.
I hand it until just a couple years ago and just used it in those spots were you could only get 1 click at a time on long fine threaded bolts.

I have 20 or more different m12 and m18 tools.  Love them.

 

Also, their cordless m18 string trimmer and leaf blower are just plain awesome.  I'll never clean a 2 stroke carb that isn't in a sled again.
