D Standard Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 1988 4x4 Comanche 2.5L AW4 Near/below brake booster/master cylinder On engine harness near throttle body Or zip tie them or of the way and forget about them??
fiatslug87 Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 The top one looks like the windshield washer fluid level sensor connector. I don't think it was used on the MJs. The 88 electrical manual can be downloaded here http://comancheclub.com/topic/12083-electrical-manual/?fromsearch=1 if it still works.
D Standard Posted February 5, 2016 Author Posted February 5, 2016 That link is just what I needed!! Thank you immensely!! And you are correct on the unused windshield washer plug, the other is the Power Steering sensor plug, which also is not needed.
schardein Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 You can add a w/s reservoir from the equivalent XJ application that has the level sensor to your MJ and plug in it. Add a bulb to the appropriate socket in the indicator panel to the left of the instruments, and you are good to go!
Marine1Texas Posted February 8, 2016 Posted February 8, 2016 arrow up means shift to a higher gear....
cruiser54 Posted February 8, 2016 Posted February 8, 2016 Upshift indicator light on manual trans models. Supposedly, if shifted then it would meet EPA fuel mileage estimates.
shelbyluvv Posted February 8, 2016 Posted February 8, 2016 The up shift light is my overdrive off light on my V8 powered MJ.

I stuck in the 97+ washer tank inside the left fender well, and the washer fluid level indicator definitely comes in handy. The bulb was already there on the cluster.
Doc. Posted February 8, 2016 Posted February 8, 2016 What's the up arrow? Reminder, keep shinny side up.
rocketwheels Posted February 12, 2016 Posted February 12, 2016 funny thing about the "up" arrow, it keeps coming on when I'm in 5th gear.....i can't go no further up than 5th !
Rockfrog Posted February 14, 2016 Posted February 14, 2016 That was a common programming issue. I remember getting a notice about it for my old YJ. It was an "it may happen, and if it does ... replace the ECM, if it is of issue, otherwise it does no harm and can be ignored" kind of notice.
