MiNi Beast
thanks guys. I appreciate the kind sentimates. a loss on many levels but remembering the impact is the proper respect for a lost soul. we had some good times as she was a champ in her old age. we should have a fur buddy thread. many pets come and go in our lifetimes and help us in many different ways but most of all, they all make us smile. imagine if people did the same. MiNi Beast
trying to install injectors with 4 holes vs the old single shot ones. one has a crack of sorts but i don't think that should matter as its below the rubber seal thing. cleaned up the dirty throttle body, may need to seal the snorkel back up has gotten some dirt build. no good. just gotta lube things up and plug the holes and should be good to go hopefully. then after a ill drive it before i buy it experience on these better atominizing of gas injectors. yeah yeah just get me up that damn hill. And for reference i can still fit in the garage and i did sleep in it last night.
MiNi Beast
break. got all back together and fired up. runs or sounds like more hp. so initial sound difference. idle was on the higher side as if bad tps, rev it up with no crackles so that was a big notice and perhaps a indicator of it being able to maintain power up a hill. but as it may I'm going to tear it all back apart so i can fix the one injector o ring. but i must say i have come along way as this swap would have been an all weekend wrench fest back when i was just getting involved with jeeps. i have learned alot from just owning a MJ. it has in itself caused me to directly learn how to fix shiznit. and I'm thankful for that, but no i will not do your brakes friend. MiNi Beast
well watched a fix it video and thought i might do it easier and faster then he did. i did. just had to pry a bit on motor mount (which i would of been unable too with solid mounts that i would like to install at some point.) but once able to move an 1/2" or so i could get the ratchet in and break it loose. then just used an allen in the pin hole on t60 socket to get it off. if had just a bit you could use a 12pt 12mm on it and should do the trick as well. just use what you gots i reckon. warmed it up first as well and went around the block and someone had put out a couple squares of shingles on the curbed and i know my fishing buddy needs a new roof on his work shop/ chicken coop. so it was a good $200 score for roofing a shed. so today i bought a $8 oring kit for extras on hand and it was avaliable in stock vs ordering a $3 oring to have to pick up tomorrow. so thats done. next. awe yes rms. i forgot to get more oil. tomorrow i reckon. MiNi Beast
i want to blow my trans up before i tear it down for ax 15 swap. so figure id try to figure out the blinkers again so i can square that away since i enjoy driving it daily. also need to deal with 14 bolt wheel seals leaking again. I'm just goin have to install some speedy sleeves and be done with it. hopefully can find them locally as want to get that fixed up while doing pads then id be good to go play a bit and work the trans and get my money back out of her. so pokeing around i just may jave found why my blinkers did work but yet stopped . burning smells i remember forever . time to clean up the rats nest and get out some toggle switches. MiNi Beast
so just pulled the melted wires apart and well now all the turn signals work proper just only now my brake lights no work. I'm a big fan of wiring.
MiNi Beast
its all good. i pulled on some wires and all is back to normal working. normal as in turn signals and hazards work and brakes light up and with right turn on and hot brakes turn stops blinking normal that is ... and wipers work again with juice. good enough, run it. MiNi Beast
well i think i have to pull the plug. yeah from what it seems to be grey and white wire that appears to be live wire to brake light indicator. so maybe my issue with right blinker stopping with brake pressed. so i don't want to but this is how it goes, going to have to pull the fuse cluster out to cut the line so its not a open live wire in the wire cluster. don't reckon i need a brake warning light since i have changed the system anyways . less weight so i may be thinning the rat nest more then anticipated. MiNi Beast
so made some progress and just put it all back together. make sure it all work again. had some issues as wasnt wanting to start once all back together. i was a little worried checking relays and fuses and double checking them old wiring diagrams i printed off when i did the last xj wiring swap. went back through the thread here trying to remember what pin p was or 11, idk. well i was out of gas. added some from can here and primed it, a min it took a few tries. but got it and I'm happy. left the cluster for now till i get mech gages. then new custom dash. so with less weight now i can get second batt instead and that whole setup for like power right.. got my radio fixed up with some support and finally got my cb mounted where ive always wanted now to figure on what to do about heat. electric blanket ftw. plug it in and be warm. and after today out and about avoiding giant horses. plow season about to start around here so about time to get ready for plow season. MiNi Beast
well buddy asked me to join on a local run. so since i had stuff i still needed to do to the rig yet, i said sure lets go. figure it out as i go. so with no heater box i loaded up some candles and blankets and set out to meet up at local food spot roughly 1.5hr north of me. from there we headed further north and they chose a nite run to be somewhat courtesy of the hunters. but hell we like to use stateland ourselves. most trails are hard bottom with sand mixed in with mud. biggest issues typically was small tires for the big tire ruts. if you keep it out of ruts usally be fine. but not always so easy to do just that. avg tire size was 33s. i being one of the bigger guys out there, yet i like last time was the most problem-matic. i had no problem hitting the bigger holes and getting muddy for that matter. one hole was deep and engulfed my 37s and so happens i forgot to lock the hubs. so another Mj owner was able to reach my drivers hub and lock it in and with that i was able to make it out of the mud hole in 3wd. at first i said that won't work and he reminded me i was locked in the front. i was tickled pink after making it out. however in that same hole i moved the engine, as stock motor mount is cracked, so it hit my aux fan and caused it to jam and that led to the sweet smell of burning plastic as my fuse holder and wires were melting. granted we had no 40am blade fuse so used a can soda tab to make a make shift fused connection which worked so well i was able to smell my way to finding the electric fan jammed up. so pulled that and had to deal with getting hot now. slow and steady and irritating. if i wanted and could have moved one fan over to other side to get more air flow as won't be on trans cooler. but no. damage was done and thinking my headgasket will be do to replace. so thinking now it perfect time to pull the whole drivetrain. replace 4.0, swap ax15 with new cps, and add perhaps a triple fan setup. blah blah. i like these local runs as it really gives me the opportunities to find those simple things that can make a day out on the trail troublesome. but was a great time. i felt bad for holding the group up bit they were a great group that ensured i was good to go. another reason i enjoy the jeep community. great folks and great time. made it home with road air flow and now to clean up the mud that came directly in my lap. maybe i need mud flaps...
