PEEJ
Just out of curiousity,Why do a lot of yall cover up your license plates before taking pics. How many people do you pass in a days time every day you drive your trucks that see's your plates.I don't understand the reason total strangers can see them but Comanche Club members can't.Am I missing something here? Pete M
I don't do it, but I can understand that photos float around the internet forever and some people might prefer some level of anonymity in the future on other websites.
HOrnbrod
^^ This. Example: I posted up on CC a pic of a personalized Alabama Red Sox license plate I had w/o blanking it out. A few months later I was browsing around for a new license plate idea and found my CC pic was posted on an independent Red Sox fan web site as the #4 best Red Sox license plate of all time. Huh? Harmless in this case, but if your pic isn't copyrighted, you're fair game for everyone to use it.

Honestly, people who cover up their license plate usually do so thinking it will prevent others from looking up their home address. The unique forum/social media name people use is enough for me to find a home address for most people.

It will help you find where the IP address is supposed to come from...but that may not be the actual location... ;)

Photoshop, Google Picasa, are a couple pc based programs. some Picture host sites will allow you to edit and add watermarks online such as the one i use now, Flickr. I get 1TB free picture storage or unlimited with the Pro plan.
HOrnbrod
You can use an online service, or a graphics program to paste a transparent text (or image) to the image you want watermarked. I use Paintshop Pro. Sample: Image Not Found

Alexia
How do you watermark an image? Aperture on OS X has an option to select a watermark image when exporting pictures. I assume Lightroom for Windows and OS X would have the same option.

Motorcharge
Never understood the thought process. How many people see your vehicle and license plate on a daily basis when you're driving it?

Peej- think about it like this...."think like a thief" I understand where some guys block the tags to prevent from this.... After spending thousands on an mj.. I really love the jeep world compared to the Honda world because Jeepers try to help Jeepers but Hondas don't help Hondas and follow you to steal parts....
