JohnQ
I might be trading my Rubicon in on this! I have a new house note, added 60 more miles per day, plus a new addition to the family coming in July. I can't justify the 10 miles per gal and a $640 monthly note for the Rubi anymore. Stupid gas prices.

DirtyComanche
Sheesh, we're paying $1.26 a liter for 87ish. That's $4.76 for a US gal. Or $4.38 US. Don't bish. Edit - wait until a European chimes in...

Pete M
I might be trading my Rubicon in on this! Screw dat. I'd rather grab a cheap 2.5L MJ. The savings from not having a monthly payment alone would pay for more gas than I could burn. :D

feerocknok
3.43, but we don't have self-serve. We only have full service stations!!! So it's not too bad. MJ gets 24 mpg in the city and 22 mpg highway.

speed_racer
depends what setup he's running, my old X would do better in town than on the hwy... Put $30 in a $3.25 a/g yesterday.. EEK!!! Luckily my firebird, although only a 4.1L inline 6, gets double the MPG of a regular jeep!

The savings from not having a monthly payment alone would pay for more gas than I could burn. :D Haaa....not my 2.5. Get's about 15-17 with a good stiff tailwind  That's why I love my Escort, even though it's ghey looking. Just turned 180K on it yesterday, and it still gets right around 40 mpg (even better on roadtrips). It's about $3.05-$3.10 down here in the Richmond area. It gets cheaper the farther off I95 you drive. Jeff
Pete M
I don't need impressive mpg as much as I need to smile every time I get into the drivers seat. :D I just don't think an Escort would do the same thing. Although, maybe if it were a stick... I imagine that'd be kinda fun. But then I'd totally destroy the fuel economy having all that fun. :brows:
Kenosha Warrior
$1.08/L 28-30mpg driving 85-90km/h for a steady 100km trip. prettydecent mileage
mjeff87
I'm in the market for a second gen Escort wagon, stick, at the moment. That's how much I like them, and a wagon will let me haul even more Jeep crap in the back of it (if that's even possible :D ) Jeff
87manche
don't hate on the scort wagon, those things are tanks, and will hold a surprising amount of weight in the back, provided the rear coils aren't broken like they always do. the Honda has proven a worthwhile investment, and even though the 4 squirrels only make about 80 HP it's fun to drive through the twisties. Amazing how a 2K lb car will handle corners, even with $#!& tires.
mjeff87
provided the rear coils aren't broken like they always do. already replaced those on the current hatchback, unfortunately, and I think the passenger side one is about to take a crap again......
