I wanna see all different kinds of MJs with different paint jobs! I'm going to do body work and paint soon and can't decide! I really like the candy apple red color an dark blues so if anyone has a picture of those that would be great. I can't wait to see them; I will post up a picture of mine after its painted.

Yes CANDY colors are nice, but very expensive and hard to paint. Candies are generally a 3 stage paint. A solid base coat often in a heavy metallic silver or gold, and tinted clear coat to give the effect, and a regular clear top coat. This type of paint is generally reserved for high dollar custome or hot rods. If a repair is needed you generally have to repaint the whole vehicle as a 3 stage is almost impossible to match if painted panel by panel. Just FYI.

I had no idea that much went into it! I don't think I'll go with a candy color then ill just go with a sapphire blue or a color called metallic red. I always wanted to do black but that's really common and I heard its a pain. Thanks for the info I didn't wanna bite off more than I can chew. Body work has already been very intimidating so I couldn't imagine after all that a hard paint job!

Surplus city in Bellwood pa I think they have a store in Maryland also they do sell paint and supplys there quite cheap. Not sure where your from but regardless do some pricing on paint there can be a HUGE difference.

I will see if I can find the can and manufacturer so you can see who sells it in your area.
