dasbulliwagen Posted May 11, 2010 Posted May 11, 2010 Jeep Trailduster Coming in as Jeep’s entry level model and somewhat replacing the Compass, is a Fiat Panda derived Jeep. Built in Toluca along the the Fiat 500, the Trailduster is more than just another all wheel drive econo-box. http://www.allpar.com/cars/chrysler/2013/
jpdocdave Posted May 11, 2010 Posted May 11, 2010 looks like poo, a jeep minivan cross over piece of poo. the ram didn't look so good either in that small pic, kinda like a ford to me, i could be wrong, and this creeps me out: Jeep Wrangler Jeep Wrangler gets the Pentastar V6 engine, and possibly more attention to its transmission and four wheel drive systems, along with minor cosmetic tweaks in 2011 and 2012.
Geonovast Posted May 11, 2010 Posted May 11, 2010 :ack: I think life would be a bit better if they just stopped.

jpdocdave Posted May 11, 2010 Posted May 11, 2010 ...rethinking my stance on Jeep redoing the Comanche... ya, no way, please don't let them put the word "comanche" on anything they make now.
Automan2164 Posted May 11, 2010 Posted May 11, 2010 Hey, I like the ideas. Chrysler needs something to keep afloat. Say what you want, but there is a reason that Toyota, Honda, and the others were doing so well while the big three were hurting. They knew how to make an econo-poo-box. And did it well. I think that the Fiat offerings into the Pentastar brand are a good thing. Even if we do have to swallow a jeep entry-level econo box. It will at least be better built (I hope) than the compass it replaces. More money in the overall brands means a better stronger company. I like the way the stinger looks, the Durango becoming more Ram-ish, and less bubbly, that "lil' ram express" gets a star in my book too. While Ford is running away with the transit connect, there is no competition. Way to go Chrysler. You get a thumbs up from this Jeeper. Rob L.
kro10000 Posted May 11, 2010 Posted May 11, 2010 I agree with you Rob, although I wouldnt mind if the Trailduster just kinda disapeared, Chrysler definitely needs to do something to stay afloat
jpdocdave Posted May 11, 2010 Posted May 11, 2010 how about leave jeep to what it should be, i mean what did they expect with: compass, patriot, liberty, grand cherokee, and commander, all different but way too similar. how about wrangler, xj, and mj, those were the days. wagoneers and grand cherokees were also great additions, but you didn't see them cannibalizing each other ram and durango are good lines, i don't know what they were thinking with the new dakotas, but they work for most. 300 sells well challenger is cool grand caravan is a success i like the new express utility whatever its called, thats a good idea, but look at the sprinter, those sales fell off pretty quick. leave jeep to a few purpose built lines, and thats it. no 2wd wrangler, either. stop trying to make jeep cover all markets, its foolish.
sinkrun Posted May 11, 2010 Posted May 11, 2010 That things just palin funny looking I would rather walk. But I must say it would probly sell as its different and I bet "cute" to some.

Rob L. well yeah that is on of the problem with the big 3 they are not and have not done things well. another reason is the over price the stuff they did not and are not doing well. like said the new jeep is poo and I think from around 98 /99 and up are not all that well eather...
86FUBAR Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 Original Trail Duster WOW! I love that pic looks like mine , but nicer and mines a RC not a TD
HOrnbrod Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 Both were great vehicles, although I always preferred the sheet metal on the Plymouths. :D It was a beast in the 4WD 440ci configuration.
JeepcoMJ Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 Thanks as always for your enlightening comments. don, I made a simple opinionated comment. that was the point of this thread, yes? it is what it is. jeep as a brand is embarassing. there has been nothing good produced since 2004, and that's only if you liked TJ's.
whowey Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 If it provides the needed cash to develop real significant Jeeps again.. than its worth what it does...
JeepcoMJ Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 If it provides the needed cash to develop real significant Jeeps again.. than its worth what it does... you're dreaming if you think anything worthwhile is ever going to be produced by jeep again.
HOrnbrod Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 Yeah, agree with that. Just pointing out how Mopar now is trying to cash in by using marque names from their once glorious past to peddle their new junk. And the title of the thread was Trail Duster, si?
JeepcoMJ Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 Yeah, agree with that. Just pointing out how Mopar now is trying to cash in by using marque names from their once glorious past to peddle their new junk. And the title of the thread was Trail Duster, si? I didn't disagree with how desperate they are, and that cashing in marquee names is simply grasping at straws and inevitably failing. and the title of the thread, as well as the first post, insinuate that an opinion based response is requested.
jpnjim Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 Meh, I hope they sell a billion of the little pieces of crap. (are long as they make them here in the USA)
