AMCJeepMJ
Looked at it in the garage, not wanting to clean out the bed of all the crap that's in it. Maybe this weekend I'll get off my rear to do it.
CWLONGSHOT
Fixed the hole in my floor then POR-15'd it!! TODAY, (Sunday) I painted the floor with : It looks good, but is kinda brite... I also decided to further adjust the seats. I am adding some washers to the rear base bolts.. I also found that the factory uses some thick washers at the base of the studs. I'm assuming they are to offset some of the carpets thickness. I removed them, some where not in good shape at all. So I found that some 1/2 washers to better level the floor. My seats have reclining backs. To fit as I have them the y are actually tilted a bit forward. So, I am hoping to get a better feeling lifting the back a bit over 1/2". If this does what I want, I'll make up real spacers. CW

kastein
Yesterday - threw the welder, welding equipment, hydro jack, full toolbag, spare parts, a d30, toolbox loaded with more spare parts, 4 jackstands, and air compressor in the back, drove it to New Hampshire, halfway up ended up putting my spare tire on a '99 XJ I saw on the side of i93 with a blowout, installed the d30 in a friend's '92 XJ, loaded it back up and drove home Today - drove it to work :(
jeepcoma
Went to rotate the tires. Right rear tire was very black on the inside, so I pulled the drum off and everything was covered in goo. :fs1: Diff fluid leaking though an axle seal maybe? It's definitely not brake fluid so I don't know what else it could be. Then, watched the truck roll off the rear jackstands. With the rear wheels off. :headpop: Slammed right down on the brake drums, but didn't seem to do any damage. I have never, ever had a jack or jackstand incident before and it's a bit worrysome to think if I had been under there.

Lloyd
I haven't been able to stop doing things long enough to log in lately, but I have accomplished so much I hope I can remember it all. But I think the biggest and most successful thing of them all that ties significantly with the mj, has to be the fishing trip with my 13 year old daughter thurs. evening. Just the 2 of us and a great time catching only 5 catfish between us in the 3 hours we got to spend at the lake. But we haven't gotten to do anything like that in a long time so it didn't matter how many we caught or didn't. It was all about the time spent with each other without others to bother us, or tell us what when why or how. We just fished and talked and that's the way we like it. The MJ ran great there and back. Another reminder that it is a he and not a she, it always runs better when my daughter is around. She liked the additions as in the automatic tranny, guage dash, interior floor lights, clock and other little things I've been adding here and there. I took some trailer side marker lights and wired them into the transmission control box and a ground so that they come on when whichever transmission solinoid has power the corresponding light is lit. I can instantly tell which gear the automatic is in. I did this at first to monitor the tranny on the initial test runs, but I liked it and made a mounting plate for them and kept it. the only trouble it has given me is the reverse now. If I am correct the transmission has a low and high reverse. It seems as if it is going directly into high reverse gear and it is hard to get it to move unless i rev it higher. But it's legal all the way around now.
deziped
Fooled around with my fuel guage some. Low fuel light came on so I decided to see how far it would go before it ran out of fuel. The owners manual states you have 2 gals left when thr light comes on so I was feeling good & also confused when it chugged to a stop after 50 miles. 25 mpg is not bad I was thinking but not likely. So I start dumping gas in tank a gal at a time to see when the light will go off. It took 3 1/2 gal to put it out. That knocked my mpg to a little over 14 combined city/hwy. Anyways obvisiously my guage low fuel light is not working correctly as it is off by 1 1/2 gallons (3.5 instead of 2) remaining in tank. Allways gas up before it gets out of red area anyway so not worth fixing.

Lloyd
I thanked my Higher Power and the powers that be for being able to bring it back to life. Packed in a whole bunch of tools and headed to work on other peoples vehicles. As I usually do with all my spare time. I swear, some day it will all come back to me in a big way, like maybe I'll get into heaven even though I don't deserve to or something. First I tapped new threads for a water neck on my brother in laws Beretta. Then back to the Ice Cream truck to reset ponts and get it running again. went to sleep last night feeling OK. Woke up so stiff I couldn't get out of bed. From staying bent over the Beretta so long I'm sure. I am going to have to start charging full mechanic rates, relatives and friends or not.
