CWLONGSHOT
I WHEELED IT!!! Sorry no good pics.. just these crappy video clips... YES, some inconsiderate bastid parked his CAR in the middle of the road!!! We where probably a mile and a half from any paved road.... We SHOULD have driven OVER it!! LOL... We chopped a couple small trees and just drove around it. It was a VERY easy trail. I only used 4WD in one very twisty spot. Most harder spots I simply flicked on the rear locker and shifted into 2WD LO. CW

mvusse
Failed at solving DW. When I bought the truck, new bushings in the control arms fixed it. Then it came back, noticed play in the frame side of track bar. Replaced track bar and bracket, fixed. Then it came back, found a bad balljoint, fixed again. Then it came back again. Inspected all suspension and steering components, and found play in steering. Replaced everything from pitman arm to steering knuckles, minus damper. Upgraded to stronger parts in the process. Steering is tight now, DW is still there. Checked balljoints, found another bad one. Replaced it, DW is still there. Swapped wheels front to back, no difference. @%#&^#$@%&* I have a feeling I'm going to completely disassemble front suspension one part at a time, and put it back together, and still not have it fixed. I WANT TO DRIVE THE PIG AGAIN. SAFELY!
freakjeep93
check you track bar bracket on the axel it may be oavaled out abit causing you DW if it is just weld a heavy washer in the hole thats the same size as the track bar bolt good luck
mvusse
Track bar was tight on both ends when I inspected the suspension three weeks ago.
freakjeep93
seriously it may be tight but the bolt hole may be a tiny bit oavled out and it may not move untill you drive
mvusse
I stacked concrete blocks on each side of the front tires to prevent them from turning, and with the engine running had my daughter turn the wheel back and forth to see what moved. Hardly any side to side movement of the truck, and no track bar movement aside from the frame flexing around the bracket.
DJM/78
I have the same problem , when I bought my truck. The front dances around like, Speedy Gonzales on meth. I replaced the front track bar , that took allot of it out but, still there . I took it to the shop and my mech. said it was in the steering. I wonder if some energy suspension bushings will help, allot of my friends swear by them. Mostly because of the bump steer that we get on our nasty roads. I'm interested to see what you come up with. JeepcoMJ
bolted down the rod and main caps on the high output I'm building for a friend's comanche (which I'm also buiilding), as well as put a new rear main on it. then I wired my brother's plow lights. put in a 6 pin toggle to switch between factory and plow lights so he can actually drive with the plow up. then I ate at george webbs with some friends. Then I spent the last few hours dicking around on the net, while wiring up my crossover harness properly for the 95 H.O. xj dash wiring to 87 renix mj rear wiring. Wildman
Planning on putting her back together? OH yea, back to the original condition, Plus :D It's all there, just the interior is pulled out, and the front clip and fenders are off. He had the box bolted back on, and the doors "screwed" on for the ride, otherwise, all the parts are in the cab, or the back of the van. All OEM - bucket seats, air, tilt wheel, cruse, off road package, rear slider and no Rust at all
