what did you do to your MJ today?

Got it almost hopelessly buried in play-dough consistency mud. Tried to winch myself out but fried the battery. Someone else tried but he ended up[ overheating his engine. Third guy melted his battery terminal completely away, but after 2 1/2 hours stuck and lots of digging with 3 shovels my girlfriend got it out with my own winch and a snatch block.

Then when I started it to back it off the trailer at home the serpentine belt instantly shredded.

3 wheel motion!

I took my 2nd Comanche offroad today for the first time! I owned it for over a year sofar and I'm surprised it took so long lol.

I was called to help out a friend that was stuck in a creek. He as a Military K5 Blazer. My Eliminator pulled him out EZ.

I love having LSD with stock suspension and 27" tires, taking this trail with my first MJ was a challenge with 3" lift 31" tires.

Few days ago I hosed Wilbur off. Top wasn't too bad, but it took close to two hours before I could see something other than mud underneath. Oh the joys of being buried to the body in river silt.

Yesterday I spent an hour chipping clay off the pulleys and installed a new serpentine belt. Pulled chunk of wood from between tire and rim, pumped flat tire back up. Topped off oil, power steering and coolant.

Should be good to drive to the shop today for a bumper to bumper check up.

what would be the regular temp on an 87 4.0 in f is 205 too hot?

Thermostat should be rated at 195, so the temp should be above that at all times. Anywhere up to 240 or 245 is within operating specs.

Back on topic:

Three tires are leaking on the bead due to mud/sand/gravel/wood stuck between tire and rim. Have resealed two of them so far. Replaced rear brake pads. One of the rear rotors is shot (1/16" deep grooves from gravel stuck between the pad and rotor) and still needs replaced, replacedbad unit bearing on the front, and still need to replace the rear axle vent line that got cut on something.

Still have to open up the axles to see if I got water in them.

saturday started out with a simple (ya I know) front end lift to level the 89 ---

first found this on both front disks

then when we got the coils out and put in the v8 zj coils --- there was no change in height --- so next they were pulled back out -- the old coils were 17", the ZJ 17 3/4" so it was grab the RE 4.5 lift coils in the parts bin ---- 22 3/4" tall

seven hours later the truck is level with about 4" of total lift --- forgot to snap pic will edit later ---

went from 25.25" in front to 29.25" inches --- ending up with ruff county HD upper and lower arms, ranch Rs9000 shocks and the RE coils --- still debating about adding the one ton steering :D

major thank you to gogetemturbo for the work and parts hook ups

:wrench:

Something has shorted out behind the dash, :fs1:

now I'm blowing fuses left and right...looks like no interior lights, radio,or cig lighter for me until I can dig into it...

Got it all fixed, and also replaced the alternator and the battery that the old one killed, back on the road with everything working like new :wrench:
