what did you do to your MJ today?

Well, I got enough done on the Comanche this afternoon to drive it out of the shop and back to the farm with no issues. Here are a few pictures after the JEEP stickers were applied to the tail gate and the rear license plate mounted:

Still have a few lights to install when they arrive and all the usual maintenance and small repairs to do while I try and recover financially enough to start the next phase of modifications.

Drove to school. Did a doughnut in the gravel parking lot, it got a little bumpy and my stereo went in to PROTECT mode. Had to disconnect the battery for a few minutes to reset the memory.

Ripped the Purple People Eater's dash apart to redo the hacked radio wiring. I finally found the 12 factory wires hiding underneath the heater controls with both plugs cut off. Also installed a door speaker in the passenger door as well as a wiring harness for power windows and locks, but didn't get the actual windows and locks done yet. Truck doesn't seem to have the dash harness to support them, so I will have to splice in part of the dash harness from the 96 parts XJ.

Pulled the engine, transmission, and transfer case from the donor XJ today. We did it the hard way for sure and it took 10 hours, but we did not break anything. :D our method was use a chain hoist to lift the drive terrain and move the cherokee back inch by inch till it was clear. at this point I have no idea how on earth i am going to get that engine into the Red Comanche. bot i think an engine balancer will be required this time.

Drilled out 11 pop rivets, replaced 7 or them with bolts and riveted 4. The Purple People Eater's passenger door now has a power windows regulator. Still have to rivet the power lock actuator into the door. Also swapped the 87 end onto the new (longer) 89 speedometer cable so it properly clips onto the speedometer and installed the longer cable.

Stopped by the painters and saw the MJ for the first time with its new coat of paint. I did not take any pictures but I assure you, it looks incredible! Doesnt even look like the same rig! I pick her up tomorrow! Pictures to follow

Yeah, but the teasing before hand is what makes the ending worth it. At least that is what ive been told in the past lol. I will finally be making a build thread for the rig once everything settles down and I get it back together

Here it is guys! Made it home via a jumper box because the damn battery is dead :fs1: . The guys left the doors open long enough to completely kill the battery. Anyways, here are some pics!

Found the main harness for the power windows and locks in the part XJ. Turns out it runs underneath the carpet in the footwell instead of through the dash. Got a pretty good start tearing into it. Removing everything I don't need like back door windows, keyless entry, alarm hookup. So far one plug has been completely cut out and another 10 pin plug only has 4 pins left (and might lose another one). There's one more plug to completely remove and probably a few more wires before I wrap it all up in black tape again.

Window power plugs straight into the front of the fuse block, but ground and lock power come in from the dash harness. haven't decided how I'm going to do that yet.
