  1. You can use the evaporator, condenser (if you are using the Novak radiator), drier and expansion block. The Jeep compressor is probably too big to fit unless you relocate your battery. You will need to make new hoses. Also you will need to change the Jeep AC wiring as the GM PCM controls the Compressor by reading the AC pressure from a high side pressure sensor and triggering the clutch. The Jeep controls the clutch directly from the high pressure circuit.
  2. If you look at my build I do describe what material to use.
  3. Good for you I think this is awesome!!
  4. More the merrier. That has a massive radiator. Looks bigger than the Novak but pictures can be deceiving!!
  5. I thought this was a pretty useful video for those of us who have had to deal with pinning and depinning connectors. Not exhaustive but pretty interesting none the less.
  6. There is an outfit called RSD Fabrication based in South Carolina who builds a lot of crewmanches as he calls them. They are on Instagram #rsd_fabrication. Not sure if he has done a conversion like you are looking for.
  7. I like it. Very good locking system. Only annoying part is you have to pop both handles to open it. But makes it very secure.. Not very deep. About 8" but good for storing recovery ropes etc.
  8. Your idle issue might be the PCM not getting a speed reading. Not sure how the Holley works but the GM PCM needs to know the vehicle is moving or it can stall or the idle can be unstable.
  9. Just got the new lenses from Key Parts. Very impressed. Great quality.
  10. It is the best tow vehicle I have ever owned. Plenty of power, very stable. Towed my Comanche from Texas to Pittsburgh last year. All up weight with trailer was around 6.000 lbs. No problems. Also got nearly 15 mpg at 70mph. The Hemi is the right engine. I also love the air ride. Very smooth. On the highway (not towing) I consistently get 22 - 24mpg if I stay under 75mph.
  11. Totally agree, considering the Comanche has more than it's fair share!!
  12. Got a pair of the Black ones. Price isn't bad considering how small the market is and if they are really sparkly lol. No matter what you do to a 30yr old piece of plastic it will never look as good as new. So for the Restomod crowd like me it could be a winner.
  13. I had the Eliminator set on my 91. Excellent quality and held up very well.
  14. I loved mine and if you ever lose a rail or need a new cover they have awesome customer service. I managed to bend a rail and they had me a new one within a week.
  15. I had a V60 for a while, by far the most comfortable car I have ever driven. The 5 cylinder engine is pretty bulletproof too.
  16. So all the Chief Products stuff finally came in. Here are the Rock Sliders installed:- The fit and finish on these is exceptional and they protect the pinch weld and wiring harness. Also got the winch and winch plate. That is the next project. Mounted the Solenoid under the hood. Along with skid plates and front protection Also adding a front camera. With the WK2 you can turn on the cargo camera input and use that for a front camera. You use Jscan ODB software with a security module bypass.
  17. Still waiting on all the Chief Products stuff to show up. Supposed to be in November. Also ordered the JCR roofrack. Love their products.
  18. Awesome build. Great attention to detail!!
  19. Try fiveomotorsport.com. Never had issues with their quality
  20. So I bit the bullet and ordered the Novak fan kit. Also got the new crossmember installed. Had to modify it to clear the 242. The exhaust is fixed so it didn't hit the front DS. All the suspension geometry is now correct. Couldn't get the factory skidplate to work so I have one available if anybody wants one. Thanks to Aaron at Smith Offroad in Dallas for all the fab work.
  21. I think I am going to do the same. I am running a GM stock 188 degree thermostat. The Jeep fans should be fine they have very high CFM (over 2,200 each) but I guess they don't cover the complete radiator, so the radiator cooling isn't optimized.
  22. Bleeding a Comanche brake system is one of the most infuriating things you can do, Keep bleeding. If you have no leaks, (including a booster vacuum leak) it has to be air in the system. Passenger rear first, then driver rear, passenger front, driver front. Keep doing it until the pedal hardens. I have had Comanches where it took many attempts to get the pedal firm. Just is what it is.
  23. They are pretty poor. Better off finding an OEM one from a junkyard and refurbishing.
