  1. 4WD Hardware has 20% off sales with free shipping from time to time. The shipping alone can save you some money. I have also used Quadratec in the past. They carry a full line of Old Man Emu. I have also been told mudflaps.com has really good prices on Rubicon Express. IMHO, you are better off piecing your own kit together rather then buying a premade kit. THat way you can mix and match brands to get a better quality kit for about the same price.
  2. Wow, I can't believe how many NH MJ ownwers are on here yet I very rarely ever see another MJ on the road.
  3. It doesn't rust either. You are correct.
  4. He said the sensor was on the T case. If it is on the trans then yes I agree it is the back up lights.
  5. I am pretty sure those vacuum lines are just to control the CAD. My 1990 YJ has the CAD removed and the 4WD light still comes on.
  6. First one is a vent hose and the second I think is the 4WD light on the dash.
  7. Hey Landlubber, I am pretty sure you ended up with this truck. Tried PMing you but it wouldn't work. Send me a PM and let me know how you got the truck and what you have done to it.
  8. The president of my Jeep club drives a stretched YJ with a ZJ 5.2L on 36s and 4.88 gears and he claims around 17 MPG. That is compaired to the 13-14 MPG he was getting with his 4.0L.
  9. The ZJ is a 94. The wiring doesn't scare me due to the fact I have a 1988 YJ that was a 258 which I swapped in an OBD 1 4.0L and a 1990 YJ that was a 258 that now has a OBD 2 4.0L and AW4. The great things about those swaps was I didn't have to deal with motor mounts. You said you deleated the A/C? What did you do for a belt? Did you use the MJ fuel pump?
  10. I got one of these pans for christmas. My first impression was that it is a well made pan. It's got some weight to it and has a nice rivited handle. Much like a cast iron pan it must be seasoned before you use it. So far I have no complaints about the pan.
  11. Great build. I too have a v8 ZJ sitting in the yard. I was going to throw the engine in my YJ but now I am thinking the MJ needs it more. Do you have any more details or pics of the mounts?
  12. Here is the plate on my YJ. It reflects the condition it was in when I first got it.
  13. A new ARB is almost a grand alone.
  14. Actually I didn't ever get around to hooking up the speedo. I just put the XJ VSS in the t case just to get it running and never got around to swapping it back out. I have been using a GPS as my speedometer. As for the VSS that will hook to a cable speedo, you are correct. You need a 1991 YJ VSS. I actually bought one and have yet to install it. It is pricey too, about $70.
  15. Nope, you can use the same under dash harness. You just have to repin the blukhead connector to match the MJ. I swapped a 93 XJ 4.0L into my 1988 YJ with a carbed 4.2L and I used the same under dash harness. You can actually swap in the new engine, hook up the fuel and get it to run by just splicing in 5 wires.
  16. Did the harness come with the PDC and the ECU? If so why not just swap it all over to the H.O. engine and harness? The wiring is not hard if you get the FSM for your vehicle and the doner. The wiring diagrams can be found online as well. It is just a matter if weeding out both harnesses and only keeping the wires you need. BTW... You can use an auto harness in a standard.
  17. Yep, I am not impressed with the flex they got with thier 3 link setup. My old XJ flexed out better than that on short arms. It was a nice MJ though.
  18. And one on the back window.
  19. Yesterday me and a buddy loaded up my trailer behind his Durango and headed south to Darien, CT to pick up my new to me 1988 Comanche. It is a short bed, 2WD, 4.0L, auto with only 116K miles. The good, it has a set of American Racing D hole rims, a fiberglass tonneau cover and the floors have been replaced. The bad is it has a few rust spots, it has some front end damage from someone backing into it hard and it runs rough. I can't really complain for the $500.00 asking price. It is really a solid little truck. Here is a pick from the tow home. The entire trip including stops, a flat trailer tire and the truck not starting when we arived, took us around 12 hours.
  20. I had planned to but ended up holding off for now. They actually went on sale at 11:30 last night. It is an ok deal but add the receiver and you are at almost $200 plus shipping and now it needs to be bent up then welded together. I don't think my little 110v welder is up to the task so I would have to pay someone to weld it up. I am guessing all said and done I could have one made locally for less money. With that said it is a nice bumper. It would be nice if they also offered it complete as well as in the DIY kit.
