  1. Found this on the net. Figured it might help someone.
  2. What side effects? You will want to keep your drag link as parallel with your track bar as possible. I would think if a drop pitman arm fixes this then it is a good thing. If anyone else has an opinion please chime in.
  3. Is the axle centered? I don't see a track bar.
  4. Here is a pick of the TRE. Look how long the thread is and look how much you have exposed. You should have about the same amount of thread on the drag link as well.
  5. From the pic it looks like you TRE at the pitman arm and adjuster sleeve are adjusted way in. It looks like you still have plenty of thread to adjust it out.
  6. Grab some popcorn and enjoy. 1989 Mickey Thompson Off road Championship GNST Main Rose Bowl
  7. A little update. Last December I got the truck home but didn't have much time to work on it. I did put a plate on it and took it to the dump one day and lets just say it has some issues. The brakes are pretty soft, the rear shocks are shot and it runs like crap. The first issue to address was that the truck idled and ran poorly. I checked for vacuum leaks and replaced a couple questionable lines. The truck was said to have had a recent tune up. The wires looked new but the cap and rotor were corroaded so I picked up new ones, a can of carb cleaner and ordered a new throttle body gasket. Two days before Christmas I had a spare couple hours so I tore into it. First I replaced the cap and rotor. I tried unplugging the O2 sensor and it really did not do much of anything. Seeing I have a low mileage rebuilt 88 4.0L sitting in my garage I swapped out the O2 from that engine. Next I started testing the EGR. It too didn't seem to be working properly so I swapped that out too. It seemed everything I did helped it run a bit better. Next was the TPS. I had picked up the new throttle body gasket so I pulled the TB and cleaned it. Filed down all the rough casting on it and polished it up, I reinstalled the TB and started it up and wow the throttle responce was much improved. Not knowing where my multi meter was at the time I adjusted the TPS by ear. That is about the time I ran out of daylight. After all that the truck runs much better but not 100% and I still need to set the TPS properly. The next morning, Christmas eve I had to move the truck out of the driveway to the backyard to make room for parking. Well, on a hill in the backyard I got it stuck. About an hour later it stated snowing and well...... lets just say it was a long, snowy winter. Today the snow has finally melted enough to get the truck out. Due to some medical issues I am unable to work on the truck right now but I am gathering parts. The original plan was to lower the truck and eventually drop a V8 into it but plans have changed. I am still planning on a V8 swap in the future but i use a truck as a truck. Lowering it really isn't practical for me. I still have a RRO rear SOA kit from one of my old MJs and seeing this thing needs shocks I decided to go higher rather then lower. So here is the new for now plan. SOA in the rear. I ordered ap some RE 5.5 front coils, RE control arm drop brackets, and a RE HD track bar w/ mount. I have a newish pair of Rancho shocks coming off the front of my YJ that with some bar pin eliminators should be the right lenght for the front of the MJ. The YJ will also be giving up its sway bar links and its set of GrizzIy rims with 31" tires. For now it will stay 2WD seeing I already have a wheeling rig. A 4wd conversion is in its future so I figured why replace parts with new parts that I will just end up replacing anyway.
  8. Honestly I never pictured myself driving a Liberty until I got one for a week as a rental. They really are a nice driving vehicle. Good luck with the sale. I am sure you will have no problem selling it.
  9. I love the taillight boxes/plates. Were you able to match the radius on the rear of the bed.
  10. It came out real nice. Great job.
  11. I agree about the ABS, it sucks. I had a 1999 Eclipse GSX that did pretty good in the snow but when the fricken ABS kicked in you were just along for the ride. I have been winter driving for the last 20 years and when i start to slip I want to be in control. As for the traction control I use it as a warning system. The only time it kicks in when I am driving is when I acellerate from a stop and I don't realize how slick the roads are. For me it is more of a "Hey, Stupid the roads are slick!" warning system. The thing I dislike about it is I have to replace the rear pads every other year.
  12. For me having a family is the biggest factor in driving a newish vehicle. My DD is a 08 KK. Yes, it does have power everything, A/C, etc. More important to me are the things you don't think about until you need them like dual airbags, crumple zones, side curtain airbags, "Latch" for car seats and traction control. I have a wife and two small childeren as well. I like the piece of mind that the vehicle that carts my family around has some of the latest saftey technology riding around with it. It is reliable, safe, comfortable and gets decent MPGs. Yeah some people might call it not a real Jeep, IDGAF really. I have my MJ for dump runs and trips to Home Depot. I wheel my YJ and drive it to work on sunny days or trips to the ice cream stand but when that 16 yo blows a light while texting I would much rather have me and my family safe in our glorified minivan.
  13. If you listen to the auctioneer he says its a "4x4". I wonder how pissed the buyer was when he realise it is 2WD.
  14. It was more of a joke...... but I bet it would be pretty cool.
  15. Looks like a Grand Cherokee got raped by a Ponitac Aztec and had a bastard child.

  19. I wouldn't exactly call it ordinary. Here in NH the state capital of Concord got 24" of snow. That was 3 inches shy of the record for one storm set in 1888. The highest total in the state from the storm measured in at 34". It wasn't just the snow that was bad though. The storm came with 30-50 MPH winds inland and even higher winds on the coast. The winds blew the snow around leaving 3'+ drifts. The one good thing about the storm is that the temps were in the twenties so it was fluffy snow and not heavy wet snow sparing us from the usual wide spread power outages. I have my 2wd Comanche parked down the hill out back so I am hoping to get it out of there sometime in May. Looks like they are forcasting a couple more inches in the morning.
  20. (2) E12 torx. Yes they need to come out.
  21. Where are you going tp mount the drivers UCA without a truss?
  22. Are those Ballistic mounts?
  23. They spray the I/C with CO2. They sell kits but it is also pretty easy to make them. You basicly run a ring of copper tubing around the outside front edge of the intercooler. You drill a bunch of holes facing inward. Then you run a line to a Nitrous solinoid, then to a paintball tank. Wire it up to a switch and you can spray the intercooler in shots like nitrous. Instead of the nitrous solinoid you can also run it off a pressure switch so it comes on with boost.
