  1. Sounds kind of like the deal I got on my MJ. 88 4.0L 5 spd. 4x4 long bed, paid $400. Could have drove it home but it had been sitting for a while and I didn't trust it for the 30 mile highway trip home.
  2. I know the spacing is a little off but has anyone ever run an XJ rear axle under an MJ without moving the perches. I am just looking for a way to even out my MJ a little better than stock ride height in the rear and 5.5"+ in the front. The only driving it would see this way is around the yard until I put the Toy 8" under it in the spring. I am not real worried about the spring eye bushings because the leafs are shot anyway. Just want to know if it will fit.

    Don't drink and drive.
  4. 5.5"+ and 225s  :D

  6. Thanks man! :D
  7. I am looking for the lenght eye to eye (point a to B), not following the leaf. I am pretty sure the bed is going to get ditched or altered so the pin location is not going to matter. I am not sure where my MJ build is going to lead me yet, right now I am just doing some research and weighing my options.
  8. Does anyone know the lenght of the stock MJ leaf springs (spring eye to spring eye)? Also does anyone know if there are any other vehicles out there that share the same spring lenght?
  9. What did you use for paint/primer?
  10. Anyone know the axle tube diameter of an 8.25?
  11. I plan on upgrading but for right now the 8.25 is FREE. :-D For the time being I just want to level out the truck. Next year I will start bulletproofing it.
  12. Not sure yet.... right now it has 225s on it. :D I had about 5" of lift in my XJ with those tires and I thought it looked good.
  13. Well I already have the tires as well as RE5.5 coils installed up front so the SOA is a must.
  14. I am welding them myself. I have no square box steel right now and wanted to get this done ASAP so I was looking to find the quickest way. I will have to try thy the dealer again.
  15. Right now I have 32x9.5 TSLs off my old XJ.
  16. Yeah this is pretty much what I had figured. I just needed someone to say go for it. :D Any idea where to find the perches cheap? Went to the dealer today and was told they can not get them.... I think it is BS but what do I know.
  17. Here is the deal I am ready to do a SOA on the rear of my MJ and it just so happens I know someone who is willing to give me a 8.25 (27 spline) axle out of an XJ with the correct gears for free. Should I bother going with the 8.25 now or just keep the D35 until I have the cash to upgrade the axle to a D44, 8.8 or Toy 8"? Jon
  18. The rockers on my MJ are rusting and very thin. I am going to cut them out and replace them with box steel. Just another option.
  19. I see about one a week. Saw 2 today. One on the way home from work and the other for sale on the side of the road. I am picking it up next week. :D
  20. Cool forum..... just hope more people show up. :D
  21. I went with 4.75" of lift in front with my old XJ with stock control arms and the axle sat about 2" back in the wheel well. I got tire rub at full turn of the wheel with 32x9.5 Swampers. Also the XJ didn't flex that great up front. I ended up replacing the CAs with longer ones. With 5" I would say spent the extra $$$ and get the longer arms. If you do get arms get the adj. arms. They flex better and you can use them when you decide to lift higher. I got mine here... good price and good quality. http://www.rustysoffroad.com
