  1. Well, I have not added to this build for a long time. One reason is because I really have not done much to it. This is how it has sat since last year. One reason is I got a deal on a YJ I just could not pass up, $800. The plane for it is to make it a daily drivable, mild wheeler so that I can go a little more extreme with the MJ. When I am done with the YJ in the next few weeks I am turning my attention back to the Comanche.
  2. This should help. http://www.800-923-jeep.com/techCorner/axle_id.cfm Maybe we should sticky this link?

    Get n hitched

Congrats man! I am also taking the plunge next May.
  4. Picked up the same camera this summer. Love it! You get a lot of camera for a little cash. Nice pics BTW.
  5. Looks sweet. Even though I hate wagoneers that nose looks perfect on that truck. Nice touch.
  6. Nice, good use for that old inboard boat motor. :D
  7. Thanks Pingpong, I was almost done typing up the same thing when you posted. :D You forgot to add that the shifters need to be adressed also after the d300 is flipped. They will be facing the ground. Duffy on Pirate makes a nice kit but he has not replied to emails in months. Why do you want to go D300? I wanted to go this route also to get the cool twin sticks but after thinking of all the hassle it would be to swap in the d300 it was not worth it to me. IMHO if you are keeping the stock front axle, stick with a 231. It actually has a lover crawl ratio than the d300.
  8. I just used YJ spring plates.
  9. Click and enjoy  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xg8_BgfV9N0
  10. This game is stealing my life! :hateputers:  http://www.planet4x4.net/4x4Country/register.php?REF=1737
  11. Anyone try 4X4 Country? A buddy turned me on to this text based game. It is a bit slow at first but once you start gaining experience you are able to do more things. It's not for everyone but it is very addicting. http://www.planet4x4.net/4x4Country/register.php?REF=1737 Anyone else playing?
  12. Love the sliders connected to the rear bumper.
  13. I would love to go but I doubt I will get my truck pieced together by then. :grrrr:
  14. My buddy Ryan built that Jeep. He had it for a while before he decided to sell it last December. For anyone interested here are the specs. Stock 4.0L, np435 trans, Ford Model 20 t-case, front HP D60, rear 14 bolt w/ 3/4 ton disk brakes. Both axles are welded w/ 4.10 gears. RE long arms with 7.5 coils. Rear SOA with custom leaf pack. I have seen it wheel much better than how it did at the show. I think a lot of that was the driver. I would say Ryan did a good job building it due to the beating it took. And to think I almost bought it first. :dunno:
  15. The RR kit only works with the stock Comanche D35 rear axle.
  16. Limiting but doable. :D

    I'm New!

.......and Howdy from your neighbor up here in New Hampshire. That is a find indeed. It has very little rust for a truck from this area. BTW.... I feel the same about Nascar :D
  18. With 35" tires he might want to add a steering box brace to the list.
  19. Never noticed this build before. Your MJ has come a long way. Keep the pics coming. :D
  20. You mean this angle? :D

    Ebay "THING"

While doing all that work you would have thought he would have added a snorkle. :dunno:
  22. Yes do..... Some of the truck might be nice too. :brows: :D Just kidding..... Welcome to the club.
  23. Looking good. It is not the first Comanche Chief I have ever seen. What year is it? My old 87 XJ was a Cherokee Chief. Wondering if it is something they did for that year only?
