  1. You might also want to consider BDS and Skyjacker 6" coils. I believe they are both stiffer then the RE springs are. I will be using one of those two spring makers because I like a stiff front spring rate also. I will probably by 7.5" Skyjacker springs and cut them down if needed. The BDS springs are nice because of their no ?'s asked warranty. I contacted them and was told there springs have a 240# per inch spring rate.
  2. My thought is to install an old fashion dimmer switch in the circuit that controls the fuel pump. 1 click fuel, 1 more and it's a no start.
  3. A good set of shocks like Bilstein's would also solve your problem. I have some Rancho RS9009's on mine and on one its like a Caddy and on 5 it's like empty 1 ton truck. About 3 is perfect. Bilstein's are supposed to be way better. I'm going with some bypass Bilstein's when the rest of my rig is done and I can afford them.
  4. Image Not Found They were found on the two pages using the search feature in under five minute... http://comancheclub.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=1988&highlight=bed+picture And I found this on the fist page in the tech forum.
  5. vibes after regear? sounds like driveshaft ballance time :D A lift won't change the driveshaft balance. It is probably a pinion angle adjustment that needs to be done. Whenever I lift more then one inch or so I replace the u-joints because the change in operating angles can cause the u-joint to induce vibration.
  6. Also remember the AW-4 has a .79-.75 OD gear ratio and the AX-15 has a .85 OD ratio. The steeper gear will be better on the highway with the auto.
  7. The torque convertermultiplies by 2 on a holeshot and by about 4mph in low range it's not doing much multiplication if any. It mainly multipies torque until the engine reaches about 1800rpm. If 36" tires and 4.88 gears are the same as what stock gearing is the gearing should be even deeper because it takes more torque multiplication to offset the weight of the larger tires. I have the same axle swap I'm doing with the same tire size. My MJ will be using a 4.0 HO and an AW-4 transmission. My gearing choice is 5.13 minimum and I might just use a 5.38 in the front and a 5.43 gear in the rear. :brows: Go deep or go home
  8. I named my project XXMJ because I combine 2 XJ's with my MJ. Well now its 4 XJ's and a parts MJ being used to build my rig. But there is the F-150, Bronco and the Dodge W-150 parts I'm using also. I probably should have named it project mutt.... My MJ has a project name but will need to earn it's real name once its finished... :brows:
  9. Sounds good. :D I'm trying for a combination of a JeepSpeed set-up, a rockcrawler and a mud truck. It will be built more like a JeepSpeed rig with the frame work and suspension quaility. It will be my multi purpose rig. :brows: How about some pictures? I'd like to see the bedsides and the shock hoop/shock set-up. Thanks.
  10. anybody up for a game of lawn jarts????

    your first car

My first car was a '69 Cutlass hardtop with a 310hp 350, a Muncie M-22 rockcrusher and a welded 4.10 rear diff. It cost $750.00 and I put another 500.00 into it. Total invesment $1250.00, total amount made racing it $2350.00. I sold it for $1000.00 after 2 years of abuse. It had single exhaust, was painted grey primer(both light and dark) and had a green drivers door. I never took it to the track but I could beat 13 second cars all day long. I only lost 2 races, the first one was a 440 6 pack Roadrunner that beat me by a fender in about a 1/4 mile. He had to play catch up since I holeshot him and had him by 2 cars at the top of 2nd gear. The other loss was to a Buick Gran Sport Stage 3, he was in primer and sounded wicked. He walked all over me. It was a low 11 sec car. I miss the wide open thottle powershifts(WOT). Later I removed every other tooth off of the syncros so I could do WOT shifts without using the clutch, just grab that shifter and slam the next gear. I miss that car, but I miss my 11 sec 71 'Cuda even more.... That car was only beat by a '68 Hemi Dart, he got me by 1/2 a car. He was on slicks but I still got the holeshot. That 'Cuda would put the front tires in the air when I did a 5000 RPM holeshot on street tires and would get the tires up again on the shift to second. I really miss that car, at least I sold it to a good friend who is restoring it.
  12. Check out this thread. http://comancheclub.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=7341&highlight= Congrats on making it in the magazine.
  13. Well I can tell you that you have a D35 rearend.
  14. I hope you don't mind. :D I'm posting up some of your pics for everyone to drool at. :brows: That is one sweet rig. Image Not Found Image Not Found
  15. Nice truck. Welcome aboard. So do you have a build up thread anywhere? I would love to get the details about your build and read about the future mods you have planned.
  16. It involves a ton of work from what I have seen. It would also reguire stronger driveline parts to deal with the torque. It's a cummins 4bt engine. Go here to learn more. http://www.4btswaps.com/forum/index.php I think one would be sweet.
  17. Nice Here's a decent MJ wheeling video, might be a repost.
  18. You don't need a boat to Catfishing... Just some stank bait or chickin livers, and a fold out chair.. Don't need no bait.... Just go noodling.... :D http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bAgw6d3kLPI&feature=related
  19. Hey Tom... Thanks for the reply. Somehow I missed it until now... ;) I will order some rubber bushings when I get to work today then. TNT... I am taking a guess that this is what you are asking, but not sure... That is exactly what I wanted to know. I have a set of Stanley 1280# springs that have a free arc measurement from the center of the eyes to the main leaf that measure 10.25". They give me 4"-4.5" of lift. I have been told all of his springs are based on 1100# spring rate. Thanks.
  20. How much free arc do they have? It looks about the same as my Stanley springs.
  21. Would definitely like a pair of each if you got em TNT. I'll check in the morning after my weekly run to the auto recycler.
  22. I recently sold my '05 Dodge SRT-4 ACR. It was one of 277 built. I did some mods and had 301 whp with 395#'s of torque. It had a front posi, 5-way adjustable tokico struts, Viper seats and BDS wheels stock. My best time in the 1/4 on street tires was a 12.87 at 126mph and it was good for 167mph when the rev limiter kicked in in 5th. I raced many cars and shocked a bunch of people. My favorite kills wer '95 Viper and a '69 Vette with 427 solid lifter tri power engine and a 4 speed. It was a blast to drive. Set the struts on 5 and 30mph rated turns were possible at 90mph. Well thats enough off topic for me.....
  23. I know I have both sizes in the garage if you need some.
  24. No need to measure them, just look at them the difference is pretty dramatic. I probably have a bunch out in the garage.
  25. don't flame me ,, but I was wanting to drop my truck just a tad and make it a sport truck... not slam but a subtle drop. It's a 2wd eliminator,, so just seems right. I would love a slightly lowered stiffly sprung fulltime 4x4 MJ with staggered gearing and tire sizes also. A trutrac in the front and a detroit in the rearend with some steep gearing would be sweet. I would love to be able to holeshot Evo's and STI's. :chillin: No flaming intended, I like your ride.
