  1. Here is the low down..................... I have to send the damaged header to pacesetter & they will send me a replacement. Then I have to send the undamaged header to Streetside to get the refund. Seems like alot of work, but better than taking a big loss on the $$$..........................
  2. Thats why the header is sitting in its original box, ready to ship back.....................
  3. I bought a pacesetter header for my 05 rubicon & the application was plegged with all kinds of prolblem from a major vacum leak. Well I fixed the problem by reinstalling the stock exhaust manifold. But not until after I tried to shave the intake to ge the pacesetter to work. In the end I put a hole in the bottom of the intake & had to get a patch put on the bottom of the intake. I called pacesetter & they told me that some intake manifold casts were different & the header wouldn't work. I got really mad, & asked why that info wasn't on the install instructions & the guy from pacesetter didn't have an answer. I asked for a refund & he told me that I need to take that up with the company I bought it from I called Street Side Auto in Kansas City & they said they probably wouldn't be able to refund my money because the header was damaged. I told them that it wouldn't have been damaged if the product there sold me had worked in the 1st place. They are to get back to me tomorrow so we can settle the problem. If they don't refund my money I'm going to take greater step to get the refund. The MAIN point I am laboring to make is "DO NOT BUY PACESETTER PRODUCTS OR YOU MIGHT GET THE SHAFT"
  4. I ordered an armor coated header from pacesetter & they neglected to mention that some intake manifolds are made different & wouldn't bolt up to your application. After I tried everything in my power to get an application to work, when it wouldn't. & causing me MAJOR problems. It seems to me that, this info should be available to everyone that buys there product. This is enough for me to WARN everyone.............. BEWARE pacesetter could give you the SHAFT
  5. Thanks that is just what I needed too know................
  6. What would the axle spline count be on a 1986 MJ Dana 30 CAD, with 4.11 gears??? Its all stock, & never been swapped out. Thanks for your time................... ;)
  7. i pulled the diff cover & its got 4.11 gears
  8. If you have the truck, you should be able to check the Tag on the Pumpkin if it hasn't been messed with or rusted off... The tags are rusted off..........................Thats why I'm asking.......
  9. What kind of gearing would have come stock in a 1986 MJ Comanche 4wd, with a 2.5 motor, Automatic transmission, Dana 30 front & Dana 35 rear?
  10. Did some tire swapping today. I took the 35 SSR's off & added the 34 LTB's. The main reason for this was because of flex. The 35's sure digging into the inner fenders up front & not allowing the truck to go as far as it can. The LTB's has helped this alot & only at full flex ,when the brake lines can play bango tunes, does the tires hit the inner fenders up front. The rear was rubbing but now the tire is clear of the inner fender... :) Here is a list of what I think the MJ is going to need to be ready for the trails...... 1. Extended brake lines 2. Spring spacers up front 3. Loc-Right in the front 30 4. Winch & bumper 5. 4 tow hooks 6. Front & rear main seals, plus valve cover gasket 7. Dust cover for bottom of tranny 8. Remove all the extra crap in the engine compartment 9. snorkel 10. exhaust coming up out of the bed, beside the roll bar Here are the pics with the LTB's, I'm starting to wonder about selling this thing now.............
  11. Here are some pics of it clean & painted..................
  12. Just because the MJ isd 4 sale doesn't mean that I going to just give up the project. Besides I was having to much fun last weekend before the damn thing quit. I got the new starter relay mounted up & so far it starts every time. After the M&G tuesday I was thinking alot about the MJ on my way home. So I decided to put some time into it. don't' get me wrong this thing is still 4 sale, & the price isn't going to change until I get the exhaust stack with a loud cheap muffler ( probably a Glass Pack) Here what I've done so far...................... When I was testing it I noticed the rear lower 1/2 of the front fender was flapping & wanting to cut on the tire. So I cut it off leaving only a small section of sheet metal Next is the roll bar. I've had most of this 2" tubing cut & ready to built for a few months. Its just been a thing of getting my farm hand welder working after my dads buddy tried putting to big of wire in it.
  13. its got the 2.5 4 banger with a 3 speed auto. it has a full tank of gas & when it quit running I was in reverse. The motor would not turn over with the key. To get it home I used a screwdriver & touched the 2 open terminals on the starter to bypass the starter relay. Once I got it home I shut it off. Then I tried to start it with the key again. it fired right up. I think I got it narrowed down to the starter relay. I ordered one at napa & it should be good to go tomorrow. Do you all, agree with this diagnosis???
  14. I always knew my lovely wife was good luck. I took her with me & we got it to start the first try..... Then I scared the hell out of her coming off the high Wall..... Another development is the fact that it starts with the key again. Crazy jeeps & there crazy parts......What ever the problem is I definately need to get that fixed 1st....
  15. I just got back front trying it again with some gas in a pop bottle. Jumping the starter makes the motor turn over. & priming it got the motor to fire once. I'm going to take my wife with me next time to hit the gas when I jump the starter again. I'm begining to think maybe the the starter or silenoid is bad......What do you think so far????
