  1. Change neutral safety switch to early model. Should be able to direct splice the other connector by simply trailing what goes where. None of the functions changed, so your TCM will still control it.
  2. I don't ever drive a vehicle without fully inspecting, and if necessary replacing all of the parts you are having issues with. No "I for now" parts ever get left on any of my cars, unless I don't have time...in which case I drive accordingly and ignore the problem while I pile. Up the parts to fix it all at once.
  3. Robs diesel MJ pretty much sums it up, or the first and last produced.
  4. As most cameras now can charge via USB cord, you can plug them into a universal USB car charger with correct adapter cable. Forget about using replaceable batteries
  5. I have several different ones, for several different things. Fuji waterproof for kayaking, Sony whatever it is for basic use Older kodak for my parents...since my mother loses things for months or breaks them All 10.2 megapixels or more, all with batteries specific to them that are rechargeable. They take thousands of pictures each with the auto sense flash turned on before batteries die, and the kodak is 7 years old. You need a new camera dude.
  6. The average 3.8 made less horsepower than a 4.0 and the 4.3 just got into the ballpark. The obvious answer is a 4.0. The 3800 I put in my MJ was faster than any 4.0. The series 2 sat at 230hp, 240 ft/lbs torque. It beat out the 4.0 h.o. On power and economy. I averaged 26mpg. A 4.0 cannot touch the 3800 for power and economy. I like 350s and LS swaps, but they are far from original. A 2.8 vm CRD would be great, but my god is that expensive. 4bt are great, but equally expensive. Except they are idiot proof, which is beneficial. Not sure what to tell you guys except that there are great choices in motors, and if a v6 is an option, the best economy v6 ever made is the buick 3800
  7. Very original. Btw, a gm buick 3800 puts out more hp than a 4.0 and is far more efficient...mid 20s for mpg In my MJ.
  8. So you are a mind reader, too? How do you know what he needs to hear? People are here to explore options, not to have the high and mighty cruiser and Hornbrod shut out those options. And I really don't dislike either of you two, but you really are both becoming the exclusive problem and are so far away from being the solution, it's not even funny. It is more irresponsible to get something stuck up your butt about postings. The advice the op needed was, "yes, but you have to swap this" That is what he got. Did not need this. And I thought I was antagonistic. Canuck has been here awhile, and generally has good things to say. Lay off it.
  9. Carnuck gave good advice. Joking or not, it is what I would do.
  10. The TPS and iac splice directly across. Not a problem. Don, you don't even own a renix. I have done. The. Half h.o. Swap with nothing but butt connectors to adapt wiring. Works great. Matter of fact, works BETTER. Renix intake, exhaust, sensors, and basically...well, everything, just suck. I will never willingly keep any. MJ renix. H.o. Is. Smoother, crisper, easier to find parts for IN STOCK at the parts stores. Even the. First h.o. Intake is an improvement over. Renix. Plenty of people have done the swap. To give it a blanket statement of "not worth it" is to discredit the knowledge of members here. If you think swapping an intake, header, downpipe, and a few hoses is "hard" or "not worth it" then I Suggest that you refrain from commenting regarding such things....it is easy, basic work, that will net several improvements. Over airflow and availability of parts.
  11. You would be better off running a small turbo traditional motor.
  12. Can you rebuild a piston motor yourself? If not, a rotary is beyond you, don't even try.

    Welders

A 220 machine is a must for anyone looking to gain skill as a welder. The miller 180 is a 110/220 auto selectable machine. Out of your price range new, but can be found used in good working order for under $1000. We paid $800 for ours. Welds great, swap the plug end on (plugs on, no wiring skills needed), and switch from 110 to 220 You can't weld any heavy duty things, such as axle mounts, perches, etc. using 110 unless you preheat.
  14. The 2wd can be replaced with the one available...which is for 4wd btw, so you are good to go with that. Check dealer first though on parts, it may be cheaper.
  15. Haha. Don, I have seen that rig in person...it is here in wisconsin.
  16. It will need fully resealed. Never installed, but it's 20+ years old and has never been stored proper
  17. I test drove the new cherokee. I hate the front end, but will own one someday. I'm sure the same will go for the renegade. Still have more use for either of those than a grand cherokee. Never did like them much.
  18. If I had left it at center, I would have no plow rig now. This cost me a $30 hose.
  19. Maybe people think that if it looks nice, you care enough to yield to them. Just had someone pull that on my 02 kj today with 6'8" Meyer plow on the front. Pulled out right in front of me, but didn't make it to the street. I cleared their driver mirror, fender, bumper cover, and driver headlight right off their vehicle. On their phone, and I had an old dump truck to my left. If I had braked, I would have rear ended them and it would be my fault. Couldn't merge left, so I stayed the course and angled the plow full left. Plow took all impact and blew a hose. Minor scratch, everything is fine, and putting it full left certainly helped alleviate the impact. Done fluid on the ground but no airbags and no scratch on my jeep. Damn focus driver. Their fault 100% according to police. That was a case of inattentive driver.
  20. Necessary for a mainly road driven vehicle. I remove them on every single offroad rig, there is nothing worse than the noise rocks make when they're stuck between a dust shield and rotor.
  21. Would also say I have rear ended two people, both in slick conditions, under 2mph, one of which I had no insurance. Both times I had them assess the damage and gave them my correct contact info, both times I paid cash for damage, and both times I was stereotyped...one in a 15 passenger ratty b van, one in my 87 on 35" tires with a big cow catcher while towing an xj on a dolly. Neither of my vehicles had a scratch, and they were pleasantly surprised that I was honest about everything. Been on both sides of this, don't like either of them.
  22. I have been hit by enough people that stereotyping based off vehicles has helped me avoid more accidents than it has hurt me for being judgemental. I see a crap car, I stay away. Just like a swerving car or oncoming car in the wrong lane
