  1. +1 for the all Bilstein crew here. Don't think I would buy anything else. Very pleased with mine.
  2. There are dimensions on here somewhere for stock ride height, I would start there and see just how much lift you have. If you want stock height I would just go back to stock parts. I'm sure there are probably even some members with stock stuff laying around they are willing to part with. Hard to say what all was changed without seeing it. Got any pictures of the current setup?
  3. No problem. I was pleasantly surprised with how "original" it looked. Makes driving fun.
  4. Absolutely no changes. I could swap it back anytime.
  5. Absolutely one of my favorite mods I have. But it wasn't $400 when I did it.
  6. That was the reason I changed my hoses and pump. I only needed a steering gear but figured I'd never get the nasty old fluid flushed from the system so my best idea was all new system and fluid.
  7. I recently replaced pump, box and hoses on mine. I had no power steering at first. Had to jack the front end up to take the weight off and work the wheel a few times to get fluid worked. Took a bit to bleed all the air but turns like butter now.
  8. The line I am looking for goes from the drier to the evaporator. It is not available unless custom made.
  9. That's the hose that is commonly available. The unobtainuim hose is there one in my picture above. This hose you linked is unfortunately not the hose I'm looking for.
  10. Is there a flare tool available to remake the flare on the steel line? I don't recall how the flare looks on my broken one. Edit: the flare looks like a flattened bubble flare. I would rather remake the entire line like the original, than to go all rubber if I can. Here is a pic of my broken unicorn.
  11. I am intrigued..... Did some quick price checks,. From what I see for less than a hundred dollars I'm making an ac hose? Can't be that easy, can it?
  12. Hoping to. Should have a title this weekend. Looks like it will be on the road next week.
  13. Sounds like a good idea until you realize at least one renix hose is unobtainuim.
  14. Not sure what you want to spend on an ax15. They are available brand new from Novak, along with many rebuild from various I just purchased a reman from power train products. I'm not affiliated in any way with them. Just the company I chose.
  15. I keep an old spark plug boot in the tool box. Works the same as your vacuum hose. Old tech showed me that years ago.
  16. I have general grabber ats on my MJ and had them on a wj I sold. Really happy with their look and traction and wear. Overall a great tire in my book.
  17. My suggestion as a long time MJ daily driver is to become intimate with at least the diagnosis methods that surround the particular vehicle you choose. Be aware it is a 30yr old truck, things can and will go wrong\fail. How you are prepared to deal with them makes all the difference.
  18. Ok I'm in need of some diagnostic help. The truck won't stay in closed loop. I am getting a code for open egr solenoid. Everything else seems normal. Here are some quick picks of what the rem shows is going on. These were taken after a 45min drive to work. Well up to normal operating temp. I have to work today but will digging into this tonight. Ugh, I love this truck.
  19. Not when you do it daily.....
  20. I have been thinking through it in my head and was wondering if it was doable with the seat in place. Good to know. I might tackle this one this evening.
  21. Gotta add a couple new joints in the front axle to the list of to do's this Friday. Looking forward to getting this on the road.
  22. Broke a parking brake cable today. It appears the end that fits in the pedal mechanism decided it was time to retire. But no worries I already have the replacement. Now I just need the time and energy to get it changed. Good thing I have Friday off. Lol
  23. Well she's been a steady ride back and forth to work for the last few days. Time for a new headlight switch and a power steering system revamp. Got some slop in the gearbox I never noticed until I started driving the new Lol. The current plan is to keep her in service till the weather changes.
  24. I just purchased a 1996 zj from my oldest daughter. She bought this truck about 5yrs ago in amazing shape. However she is not the best about vehicle maintenance and care. That left me some odds and ends to take care of upon purchase. Nothing major just some cosmetics and general upkeep. So far I have adjusted\lubed all doors and latches. Heat gun treatment for the lower trim cladding. Vacuumed and cleaned the interior. Changed the dome lights out that were non functional. Replaced the crappy falling headliner. Re attached the interior rearview mirror. Tinted the windows. New wipers all the way around. New shocks all the way around. Had to change out a boogered up wheel, she had an issue with lugs loosening. Thanks to her dad's parts hoarding habits I had a matching rim on hand. New struts for the rear hatch, it came with a broom handle which my daughter received from the previous owner. Lol. The list of needed parts and things to address are short but still existent. I plan to make a junkyard trip next weekend to see what I can I need some parts for the overhead console and a few small misc clips and screws. I haven't gotten the tittle transferred, so road tests yet but I have driven it in the past and am familiar with the truck. Plans are to put it into service as a backup\winter vehicle for the wife. Sorry for the lack of pictures, there will be more to come. Along with a list of parts needed. Lol Before anyone asks the hood bra is not for sale.
