  1. If it's stuck real bad get out the torch. It can't be stuck if it's liquid.
  2. Make double sure all the bolts are out and drive a scraper or small screwdriver in between the pan and It will be stubborn if the rtv job is decent.
  3. Tricky yes, but not impossible. I have done several in xj's and mj's. Full droop of the front axle is required for pan removal.
  4. It's probably parked in the weed patch quietly awaiting snow.
  5. I am still battling oil leaks on mine. I am beginning to think it may be related to the 15w40 rotella being too thick. I'm going to try a 5w30 oil change and see what happens. Seems it is still puking out of the valve cover breather. Oil leaks are a nightmare. I have found ritualistic degreasing of the engine bay not only makes it easier to locate but also keeps the weeds down in the driveway. Lol
  6. Drove her to work for the second day in a row. The new to me rebuilt ax15 is a dream to drive, shifts like butter covered in bacon grease. I forgot how much I enjoy driving the MJ. Not that there is anything wrong with the leather interior of an air conditioned Silverado ltz, just ALOT more comfortable in the "old beater". And the fuel mileage difference doesn't hurt either. 4.0>6.0, although the power difference is sizeable.
  7. Well after a good morning in the shop the reman ax15 is in and the trucks back together. Charging the battery and need to pick up some juice for the trans and tcase. After that she will be ready to get back out on the road.
  8. I figured that out after I pulled the factory shifter out and looked at it.
  9. Awesome. I thought they were shifter related but wasn't sure.
  10. Transmission arrived yesterday. Time to start the install today. Hoping to have it back on the road. We will see how that goes.
  11. I need some help identify 2 pieces that came with my reman ax-15. Seems to me I have it ready to go in the truck less fluid. However it came with 2 parts hanging on a wire, and I don't recognize them. Anyone know what these are, or at least where they go?
  12. Wish I was lucky enough to have a truck company named after me.....
  13. New bellhousing is painted, back of motor cleaned, transmission ordered. Getting excited to have her back on the road.
  14. Well a small amount of progress was made yesterday. Broke my only t27 bit so parts truck progress is on hold until new tools arrive. Old clutch is out. Still have some cleaning to do then time for a new luk flywheel and clutch kit. Should have those in today. Getting close to making a decision on new or rebuilt trans.....
  15. Not much new to report on the MJ lately. Unfortunately I lost my 3rd gear synchros in the ax15. Upon removal of the trans I discovered a cracked bellhousing. I found a used bell housing on eBay for way too much money. Lol I have a new clutch kit and flywheel on the way. Still saving funds and trying to decide on a new or rebuilt trans. Today I have decided to remove the handful of small things I want off of my parts truck and prepare it for departure from my possession. Then the rest of the day will be spent cleaning and preparing my truck for the arrival of new parts and it's glorious return to the road. She looks so sad and dusty.
  16. Came over our place yesterday. Sorry for the crappy picture, they were moving fast and I'm old and slow with the phone. You can see the pair above the barn in the second pic. The lead one was behind the tree by the time I zoomed in.
  17. I'm not much help in MJ specific units, but I have a eonon in my 13 Silverado and have been very happy with it for a lower end unit it seems to work well.
  18. I added myself also, even though I've done this a few times. Lol Oh well at least I made it to the party, even if I am late.
  19. Working is really all I want out of it. My truck is definitely not a show truck. Lol
  20. If it's swb you will have to drill the rivets and remove the rear panel to fit a 31". I did it to mine. But depending on the actual size of the tire 32" might be possible. I can't speak for a longbed. Edit: I also wanted to add I highly recommend at least a ratchet strap from frame rail to frame rail, I wouldnt trust the factory spare carrier alone. They are too old and really not meant for an oversized tire.
  21. That doesn't look like "Dark Vivid Red Metallic Paint" in the first 2 photos. But the header panel looks like it could be. Maybe the color is off on my phone.
  22. I have a solid glass in my parts truck, however I'm in NE Indiana. So it might not work logistically.
  23. I'll probably have a new one made. Not so keen on replacing 30yr old part with more 30yr old parts. I was really hoping we found an aftermarket solution. Oh well, the search continues.
  24. This is my broken hose. Doesn't look like the one pictured.
  25. No I haven't received an answer yet. May just break down and try a set.
